I think what FR needs is just some solid database re-indexing...2,000,000 threads and no telling how many inner-joins to bring them to us will wreak havoc on any server if not well indexed!

It has been very slow the last few weeks.I wonder what’s going on? Can hacking issues be involved? A FReeper posted concerns a few days ago about the relational database structure of the site. Being an EF Codd devotee, I dismissed the FReeper's concerns. But there is a difference between a discussion forum and a business application. When you start getting into the millions of records, relational databases can slow down.
Especially with unstructured data (i.e. "A Moose Bit My Sister.")

If I could send more money to FR, I would.
The Free Republic, along with Rush Limbaugh, and others have provided undeniable truth to the world. This has taken the main stream media out of their Pravda status.
THAT is why this site is looked to, and overloaded.
