The hoax of the so-called restoration of USA image according to CNN and cie

Posted on 09/27/2008 5:59:59 AM PDT by Ulysse

A supposed deterioration of foreign US image have been hammered over and over by liberals and leftists has an evidence based on rough statistics about the US' approval rates in very different countries given without analysis and specific comments and it has been used as an evidence to make falsely "obvious" that US foreign policy was on the bad track.

The untold innuendo of that assertion that US image as to be restored in "the world"(what world?)is that USA should aim to get a high approval rate from every countries in the world as a main determining criteria of judgement about USA policy.

This implies the loss of sovereignty of USA who should yield to the pressure of an hazardous "worldwide" opinion "estimated" by some pollsters for some big companies/MSM with many ties and interests... This mean then the loss of american freedom, values and what we call democracy...

Good night Mr.O ! Your "dreams" are not mines! Thank you to keep your dreams for yourself, keep dreaming alone and not as the POTUS. Good night CNN/Christian Amanpur keep dreaming of a worldwide society ruled by international MSM.

Here is how to rebutt this lie that America has lost the respect of the world!

From a practical point of view, for the United States loosing so many great men and women fighting in Iraq as well as billions of dollars at some point was good enough reason to get out of Iraq. But consider this scenario and its political impact:

The United States started a war, saw that it had lost control of the war and quickly withdrew leaving a third world country to the mercy of terrorists.

But in the eyes of the world, this would have compounded the first mistake which was starting a wrong war. To leave a country shattered in the middle of an unfinished war would have given the world a bigger excuse to say that for America, American lives are worth more than Iraqi lives; that a rich country always treats a poor country badly.

If as some in Democratic Party argue that America has lost its standing in the world by starting the Iraq war, imagine the reaction of the world community, the liberal media and democratic pundits would have said had America gotten out of the war leaving the chaos and Iraqi people to fend for themselves.

It is the greatness of the United States to spend its own blood and wealth to make what was a wrong fight a right; to show leadership in a tough situations. Is this not what we Asians admired about America from far away?

Like Obama, the lie. More conservative governments have come to power in Germany and France. Our allies repsect us and our enemies fear us.

What CNN and the other Pravda outlets really mean is that our enemies can't get as much over on us as they used to...and that really frosts the MSM.

They are hoping that their Marxisrt-in-Chief, the Obamanation, can set things back to the Clinton and Carter years for them in this regard.

I am just hoping that we can successfully expose the monstrocity of Obama's direct ties to the econoimic crisis we now face.

If there is any loss of respect for us in the world it’s because of a relentless anti America propaganda sponsored by THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY..
I wished McCain would have said that to that Marxist Obama.
PS , I could care less who likes the USA because I know in a pinch they will all come running to us for help .

When W started the war, France, Germany, Russia and some Middle Eastern countries had sweetheart deals with Saddam. the Dims in congress were in sympathy with them. We ruined their party; that’s when we started having a “bad image”.

If we are so disliked why are so many trying to come here legally and illegally? It seems to me it is the MSM, Islamic terrorists and Hollywood who dislike America far more than anyone else in the world.

Sorry for Obama, Michelle and the Hollywood that they don’t see this as a great nation. Personally I am not at all ashamed that I can’t speak several languages. I at least can master fair English unlike many Americans today.

Go to any European country.

Stand on a soap box downtown and shout that you have 10 passports for honest hard-working people to come to America.

You will be charged with inciting a riot as people fight to get to you.

THAT is America's standing in the world.

I didn't see the debate, but I heard him speaking on TV yesterday where he was talking about the war and how Al-Quaeda(sp?) is in resurgence and emboldened in Iraq border incursions. I was YELLING at him that the RATS are the ones who have emboldened them.

If it weren't for the left constantly giving the enemy hope for a change in war policy, they would have been defeated by now. I wonder how many US military deaths have happened because of this.

All the while we were winning the Cold War under Reagan..we were really unpopular in Europe. I was living there at the time..and felt at times that I was the only free enterprise, anit communist on the planet. I remember the demonstration against putting missiles in Europe. Reagan was a crazy cowboy..etc..etc.
If we had listen to their opinions then we would still have the old soviet union. If we listen now..we will really loose our freedom.

It’s amusing when the concern of teenagers is applied to our foreign policy. “We’re no longer popular in the world as we once were.” Grand. I’d rather our nation not be popular with dictators in North Korea, Iran, Russia, Venezuela, and Cuba, but I guess that’s just me.

I thought the part of US foreign policy and national security is ultimately to advance the interests of the United States and to defend its borders. It’s rather obvious that sometimes you’re going to step on some toes doing so. I think I’d want a president who didn’t give much of a thought to the global popularity contest when considering what was best for this nation.

This “issue” provides great insight into the concerns of liberals. It’s not that we aren’t respected around the world (sorry libs, with our armed forces and our economy, yes, even right now in the alleged hour of chaos, we are respected around the world), but that we aren’t loved by socialist peacemonger Islamofascist sympathizers in Western Europe.

What’s the old saying? ‘Better to be feared than loved’? I do hope that dictators around the world continue to fear us. The moment they don’t, a dictatorship will have arisen on our shores.

I can’t stand that b*tch. At one point last night she said she “giggled” when McCain mispronounced the Iranian Hitler’s name. She’s likely an official useful idiot for that guy. Given that she is part Iranian it wouldn’t surprise me.

I never quite understood why she is put forth as some great voice/mind on international affairs. Maybe Kissinger once copped a feel.

The left hates America and wants the world to hate America too. That’s just basic. The typical liberal isn’t quite so extreme — they only want the world to hate America when there’s a Republican president. They’ve shown that when there’s a Republican president they will gladly incourage anti-Americanism and in their dirty little hearts delight in it because they sense it will help get a Democrat elected.

That’s what’s so galling about their raising the issue of America’s supposed fallen stature in the world: even as they complain about it, they’re encouraging it. It’s totally cynical. They’re the same way with the war. They complain about it being another Vietnam but everyone knows that in their filthy little hearts that’s exactly what they want — another Vietnam to humiliate another Republican president. That’s why it’s so gratifying that we’re winning now.

I am sure we will be more respected when we can stand shoulder to shoulder with Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Burma, Zimbabwe, N. Korea and host of third world dictatorships. I have no doubt that is where 0bama will take us.

Well said.

My friend just became a US citizen yesterday !! She truly loves this country, and says so earnestly. She lived in London, Scotland and France and was born in Toronto Canada.

She says she is filled with pride at the thought of being an American citizen !! I am proud of her too.
