So this Roubini guy called every single economist in the whole world and asked them if they were consulted?
I’m just saying...
This is a smokey backroom deal by power brokers with blank checks and no accountability (until the next election, except for Paulson who has his half billion safely nestled in a trust).
That was my guess. As he knows every economist personally and they all report to home with all their movements, he would have been made aware of their involvement.
That said, I’ve studied economics, and most “economists” are morons who have found a way to cash in on the fact that most people know even less than they do.
What he means is that he himself his highness was not called upon to pontificate.
Nouriel Roubini, who I believe is a professor of economics, is one of the very few who spoken out about the mess we find ourselves in today. For years he has explained what was occurring. His predictions, unfortunately, have been spot on. For his prescience, he has been rewarded by the mainstream economic/financial publications and CNBC type talking heads, as a crackpot. Mocked and ridiculed. His naysayers and detractors are now consuming meal after meal of cold crow.
Roubini remains the class act that he is, he’s not an “I told you so” type and he continues to pound the table on the folly of this bailout and the preceding ones.
Would everyone that believes this bailout marks the end of the problem and we will now turn the proverbial corner, please raise their hands?
