(myFOXstl) -- Ward One Alderman Charles Quincy Troupe says shootings happen in his district on an almost regular basis, so he’s calling on the more law abiding citizens of his Ward to be armed with guns for protection.
Alderman Troupe says something needs to be done to take control, “it kills the good kids, along with the bad. They are in danger if they join a gang and they are in danger if they don’t join a gang, so it’s a lose lose situation for us.”
Two teens were shot in a house Saturday morning on East Grand, a 17-year-old was killed, the other victim remains in critical condition. A few hours later a 25-year-old was shot and killed in the 5000 block of Thekla. Troupe says “the components there are hostile even to good kids, even to old people, anybody there is subject to be killed at anytime.”
Troupe is encouraging his constituents to arm themselves for protection, but also wants them to call police “your only challenge is to stay alive until police get there and the only way for you to do that, in many cases, is to own a gun, know how to use it, and more importantly know when to use it.”

There are a lot of shootings in St. Louis. I’m told the local nightly news used to keep a body count tally. Not kidding.
I saw the interview with this old guy last night. He basically said that not enough law-abiding citizens are well-armed. God bless this old man.
Look for this STL alderman to get dumped by the Democrat party in their next city primary.
Demonrats can’t have one of their own straying from the reservation like this.

You must be thinking of East St. Louis, IL.
The berg on the other side of the river is EAST St. Louis, Illinois.
I think it’s time to get a firearm as I have no confidence in the government that has placed us on the verge of a major equity market crash and depression being able to stop it. You know that many people today in this country will be able to handle themselves if they face a sudden drop in their wealth and standard of living. In addition, when we consider the number of poor, illegal aliens currently residing in our country, as well as the number of ignorant products of our public education “system”, we are facing the possibility of a sudden spike in all kinds of crime against property and person.
From about 1984-1990 or so, yes, and then the murder rate dropped as so many of the criminals were either in jail or shot themselves.
Well, if the people of the north side take this Alderman seriously, that could be one of the calmest parts of the city.
I was in St. Louis MO last month.
The city has changed a lot since my last visit 25 years ago. I can guarantee you that on my next visit I will be armed.
I KNOW about East St. Louis. But not everyone who reads these posts is so informed.
It is not a major inconvenience for a person who posts an article or statement to please be specific. When mentioning a city the state it is located within should also be mentioned.
