Palin Says She's Ready To Rumble
ABC News ^

Posted on 09/29/2008 12:15:55 PM PDT by Chet 99

ABC News' Ron Claiborne reports: Seemingly brimming with confidence, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she is ready to go head-to-head with Democratic Sen. Joe Biden in the vice presidential debate this week.

"I guess it's my turn now and I do look forward to Thursday and debating Senator Biden," she told a roaring crowd at a joint campaign rally Monday in Columbus, Ohio with Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain.

Palin told the audience "I'll do my part in St. Louis this week” in her debate against Sen. Biden, while mocking his age and experience, and his sports prognostication skills to the Ohio State Buckeye-friendly audience.

"I'm looking forward to meeting him too," Palin said. "I've never met him before. But, I've been hearing about his senate speeches since I was in like second grade. I have to admit though he is a great debater and looks pretty doggone confident like he's sure he's gonna win. But, then again this is the same Senator Biden who said the other day that the University of Delaware would trounce the Ohio State Buckeyes. Wrong!"

“See, see she hasn’t met any foreign leaders...”

Yeah, and only Biden has the experience necessary to know that President Roosevelt went on television in 1929. I still don’t understand how he screwed that up. He was THERE for cryin’ out loud!

Some visualization practice, Gov Palin:

Imagine he’s threatening one of your children - you have to beat him to save that child.

Go.

When Gov. Palin meets Joe Biden, she can say with confidence that she has met a space alien.

I just pray that McCain has not turned her into a piss ant RINO. She has to show up as the arch conservative she has been.

The media can’t have Palin sounding confident heading into the debate. She’s supposed to be cowering in fear, shaking in her go-go snow boots, wondering why on Earth she signed up for this. Idiot “conservatives” like Kathleen Parker will be eating some crow come Thursday night (sorry Toots, you’re forever banished from conservativedom).

“...while mocking his age...”

Typical liberal inflections. I do believe Gov. Palin was pointing out the fact that Sen. Biden has been one of the good old boys for quite some time.

I guess this “nuance” went over ABC’s head.

“I think [Senator Obama] can be ready but right now, I don’t believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job-training.”

- Joe Biden

If Biden tries to criticize Palin about the comment about Russia being nearby or anything like that, I say she should challenge him to explain THIS baby. “Why, Senator Biden, are you so eagerly advocating the election of someone who, according to you, isn’t ready for the presidency? How is it that your opinion of him has changed so suddenly only after you were chosen as his running mate? Are you willing to put America at risk by having someone not ready elected to the presidency, just because it would advance your career?” Boy would he squirm if he had to face this question!

She better be. This is her last and only chance to speak to the broad swath of Americans and kick sh^& in the faces of the DBM.

I just hope McCain lets her come out swinging and retire all this RINO reach across the aisle reform crap

I’m curious about the time allotments. Joe sometimes has trouble being concise. Also, I think Joe might be thrown off his stride if she says something he isn’t expecting. Hope McCain has a few suggestions along those lines.

Governor Palin, be careful and well prepared. Your opponent is a careful speaker who appears to have a wide range of knowledge and will use it to trip you up and go after any weakness you show. Your opponent has years and years of experience speaking on camera and is used to a debating situation where topics can change on a dime, but is rarely tripped up by those changes. This opponent is closely tied to Obama and expects to have a considerable increase in personal fortune from Obama being elected President. And that's just Gwen Ifill with her book "Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama".

You also have to be prepared to battle Biden too. Try not to stare at him slackjawed when he talks about the battalion of dinosaurs Emperor Lincoln brought to the Battle of Hastings.

Agreed. . .time to let Palin be Palin, and no more of this over-prep.

Be who she is: genuine and honest, and with common sense.

Don't try to be a policy wonk, be a leader that speaks to the people, not to the Wash DC elite.

I KNOW you can’t be talking about Biden.

I'd love it if she referred to him as Senator Blutarsky.

“Rock,” he said, “sometime when the team is up against it and the breaks are beating the boys, tell them to go out there with all they’ve got and win just one for the Gipper. I don’t know where I’ll be then, Rock,” he said, “but I’ll know about it and I’ll be happy.”

WELL, WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?!!!
