The entire Arizona contingent voted ‘no’. I’d be interested to know why the liberal Dims made that choice. They must all be worried about re-election.

"They must all be worried about re-election"

That's what Rush said. Dems are terrified about re-election.

Someone said it was to embarrass Sen. McCain, but I don't think that explanation holds water, considering Sen. McCain wasn't fond of the plan originally anyway.

Shelia Jackson-Lee voted no. Hmmmm.

Whatcha wanna bet the next bill that gets offered up has all the ACORN pork back into it...and that it passes. I know her vote would shift.

I was coming here to ask something like that. I’ve heard that there were Dems not supporting this thing and that made me suspicious. Why did ‘they’ vote against it? I thought about it being an election year. But it always seems like there has to be phone campaigns and email campaigns and a LOT of fuss before something like this happens. This was almost too fast.

Can someone explain it to me? Or am I just too accustomed to long drawn out battles to try to get something bad stopped? Or should I care, so long as it’s not passed?

Miller and Giffords may be concerned, but Grijalva and Eckstrom have nothing to worry about.

Even more surprising is that HI’s Abercrombie and Hirono (My Congress-Dimo-Crat) both voted no. They have absolutely nothing to worry about, so why.....? It might be possible they actually listened to their constituents.

yep they are, except the two real lib dems, they probably voted no because there wasn’t enough for their constituents: illegals, acorn, people that don’t pay taxes, etc.

That, or not enough pork for them.

I know Giffords heard from me, and I suspect from a lot of others. This is normally a republican district, so she can’t go left without losing her seat.

Pelosi couldn’t deliver the votes. Not because she wasn’t liberal enough, but because many democrats are from republican leaning districts. The class of 2006 cannot afford to vote left.

Arizona is J6P territory, and that's a good thing.

They’re pissed off because the pork they wanted for La Raza and the other shakedown groups was taken out, and they are throwing a hissy fit. It’s a protest vote by the Dims.

None of the Tennesseans surprise me. Lincoln Davis (D), is actually more conservative than some Republicans.

It must be being worried about re-election. I am represented, I mean.... Mr. Grijalva is the representative for my district and Mr. Pastor used to be. When I saw they had voted no, it makes me think this a giant con job. It just does not add up them voting no.
