There in lies the problem. I've understood everything in that video for years. I've watched as my wife's kids came home from school and spewed liberal propaganda and I've tried to set them straight, with some success. I'm very pessimistic, not because I don't know whats going on but because I DO. And there is seemingly nothing we can do about it, we are now out numbered.

My sadness is not for myself, as we are actively preparing ourselves for what is to come. It is for those in this country that have tried to follow the rules and are getting blamed for everything that is wrong with this country. The crooks that have destroyed this country or profited from that destruction are standing in front of microphones telling us the sky is going to fall and the institutions that were supposed to shine a light on this crap are actively hiding the truth instead.

Look around you, how many of the "folks" that you come across are really paying enough attention or have the time to understand that this battle is MUCH MUCH bigger than this latest outrage. How many of those people would believe that it's only a small part of a larger problem? How many of them would care?

As for Palin, I agree, she is competent, but what good is that if the campaign won't let her loose? What good is having a VP nominee that is from outside Washington, then immediately surrounding her with Washington insiders so that she doesn't offend anyone, especially not the inside the beltway infrastructure? If they are protecting her, why? If they are not protecting her, then why does she feel compelled to give illusive answerers to the questions she has taken. I love the idea of a Sarah Palin, but this reality is turning out to be something different. And It's NOT a media generated impression of her, I've watched her stump speeches, her performance back in the 2006 Gov debate and on Fox, Hannitity didn't really challenge her and she still didn't have good concise answers.

We will go to the polls for McCain on Nov 4th, but I believe this battle has been lost, even with (or maybe especially with) a McCain presidency. Remember, McCain isn't exactly (or more to the point, AT ALL) a conservative. He is going to go along with a lot crap from the Dems side in the name of bipartisanship, and he will further discredit conservatism, but he may slow the march to socialism, if only by a little.

Count me as doom and gloomer.

Tony,

The whole point was that I’ve known it for years too. For that reason, I DON’T write posts like yours...all is lost....

Was it over when the Germans Bombed Pearl Harbor?/s Get your head right, it’s not over until our last breath in the Obama Gulags.

My Great Uncle came home from a Nazi concentration camp, he showed me his number tattoo when I was a kid, I didn’t understand it then. He lived a happy life as a musician, things could be much worse. Pull it together.

Maybe I can offer a different perspective. I just watched the entire video, hat tip to Bob since I had never seen it before.

The soviet defector, in 1985, was talking about how the United States was being subverted. He talked a lot about the soviet system supporting revolution around the world and described their long term plans to topple countries. He talks about useful idiots like Ted Kennedy and Jane Fonda by name. He never mentioned Ronald Reagen, but he did mention Mondale as a Marxist, promising everything and not worrying about ever fulfilling those promises.

He had no idea that in 5 years the soviet union would be gone. He doesn't predict the collapse of the soviet empire and the freedom of millions in former soviet states. Those people in Ukraine, Poland, Checkoslavakia, etc know communism well and are very suspicious of it. That's why their leaders all flew to Georgia to support them. We have more allies against Marxism than we ever did.

We might not have a Reagen on the ticket, despite Michael Reagen's assertion that Sarah Palin is his dad reincarnated. But who knows what we'll have in eight or ten years? Imagine McCain as a placeholder for a Jindal, or whoever comes after him. Ronald Reagen over thew the largest empire in modern times without a war, rebuilt American pride and set the course for American political debate for the next two decades. He did it against the opposition of a democrat congress with much more competent leadership than they now have. He did it with a media that was much stronger, much more respected and had no competition.

The left has exposed themselves. The media has exposed themselves. Yes, education, the welfare state and the growing government are huge problems. In 1980 the Soviet Union was the biggest problem in the world. One man changed that. Keep faith. Maybe McCain, can begin the process of curtailing government growth. Maybe, with him as CIC, the republicans won't so easily forget the lesson of 2006. And maybe the next Reagen will be ready by the time McCain leaves office.
