Maybe I can offer a different perspective. I just watched the entire video, hat tip to Bob since I had never seen it before.

The soviet defector, in 1985, was talking about how the United States was being subverted. He talked a lot about the soviet system supporting revolution around the world and described their long term plans to topple countries. He talks about useful idiots like Ted Kennedy and Jane Fonda by name. He never mentioned Ronald Reagen, but he did mention Mondale as a Marxist, promising everything and not worrying about ever fulfilling those promises.

He had no idea that in 5 years the soviet union would be gone. He doesn't predict the collapse of the soviet empire and the freedom of millions in former soviet states. Those people in Ukraine, Poland, Checkoslavakia, etc know communism well and are very suspicious of it. That's why their leaders all flew to Georgia to support them. We have more allies against Marxism than we ever did.

We might not have a Reagen on the ticket, despite Michael Reagen's assertion that Sarah Palin is his dad reincarnated. But who knows what we'll have in eight or ten years? Imagine McCain as a placeholder for a Jindal, or whoever comes after him. Ronald Reagen over thew the largest empire in modern times without a war, rebuilt American pride and set the course for American political debate for the next two decades. He did it against the opposition of a democrat congress with much more competent leadership than they now have. He did it with a media that was much stronger, much more respected and had no competition.

The left has exposed themselves. The media has exposed themselves. Yes, education, the welfare state and the growing government are huge problems. In 1980 the Soviet Union was the biggest problem in the world. One man changed that. Keep faith. Maybe McCain, can begin the process of curtailing government growth. Maybe, with him as CIC, the republicans won't so easily forget the lesson of 2006. And maybe the next Reagen will be ready by the time McCain leaves office.

What was really relative was the prescience of the “Bailout” and the stage of “Demoralization” becoming so prevalent on this forum. I was getting sick of seeing tons of negative vanities and tons of negative posts.

Many who hate the MSM are being influenced, I know it’s hard not to, the drumbeat never stops, but I refuse to concede. Many people here who are not trolls are posting about “President Obama”, playing the role of the MSM and in essence carrying out psy-ops on the last outpost of freedom FREE REPUBLIC.

I don’t care if you are Ronald Reagan reincarnate, if you are constantly posting negative crap here and conceding the election, you’re no better than a troll, I’m not talking about you, but you get the idea, we’re all guilty of it at one time or another. Some members apparently thrive on it, I want those members to know that they doing damage, whether they have 12,000 conservative posts or not, but they just know McCain isn’t going to win.

BS, McCain is going to win in a landslide, we’re not at the point that we’re going to elect President Barack Hussein Obama and if you’re going to post doom and gloom, do it at some other forum, we’ve heard it all before, about 500 times.
