But, what I cannot understand, is why Bush always gets the pass with you so-called "conservatives"?

Bingo. They are rino's.

BTW: You left out Bush's $50 billion aids program for Africa.

I don’t see how a single one of those items would have gone down any better if Al Gore Junior or John FTA Kerry had been elected president.

I’m not debating that we should have voted for Gore or Kerry. I am saying George Bush has betrayed the Reagan revolution.

Bump! McCain is certainly more conservative (or less liberal anyway) than George W. Bush, but both suffer from the same disease of wanting to please the liberal media establishment.

GW took a satnd, although not popular, was his view of the situation. George has stood his ground, right or wrong I voted for him, I would again, he has brought us through some troubled waters, and I am glad to say, We here today are still standing...

I not to be disagreeable, sir, but to vehemently disagree, GWB has really never taken a stand on anything...he's only reacted when he's been painted into a corner and that has been what has made him unpopular. He only reacted, never proacted! There was all the evidence in the world before 9/11 (bombing of the USS Cole, African embassy, Somolia and Clinton's absymal performance of countering any of it) yet 9/11 occurred. Iraq was necessary but not with "I'm not interested in nation building" limited warfare. There was plenty of warning about Katrinia and, whoever allowed his overflight afterwards (Rove) should have been fired immediately.

Personally, I wish the best for every president upon gaining office (even, Obama, should he get elected) because a great president usually means a better country. Accordingly, I had high hopes for Bush until about the first 100 days after Operation Iraqi Freedom when it became evident that, despite an overwhelming military victory there was widespread chaos, looting, crime and increasing insurgency from foreign Al Qeida terrorists pouring into the country due to a reining in of needed occupation troop presence. I didn't understand the strategy of not immediately employing a surge when it was first needed and still don't. He's further reacted to immigration problems, reacted only after the 2006 "thumpin'" and he's reacting now to the so-called economic crisis. He's never proactively led.

They wouldn't have been, things would have been much worse BUT THE COUNTRY WOULD BE BLAMING THEM INSTEAD OF BUSH/McCAIN/PALIN FOR THE F-UPs AND WE'd BE ON OUR WAY TO AN OVERWHELMING LANDSLIDE (such as in 1980 and '84).

B.S., GW took a stand on Iraq, Terrorism, Christian Values,
Abortion, Education, and too many more to count.

He did what he said, that what counts as takinf a stand, maybe its not what your stand for, but is what I voted for!

Hey Johnnie: This is what I would have liked to have seen Bush do to non performers (i.e. Paulson, Cox, Brownie, Crummy Rummy, Mineta, Evans, Bernake, Shinsheki, Casey, Bremer, et al) click here

Bush does not have a clue about how to use the bully pulpit ....

I was glad about that when he was trying to shove shamnesty down our throats last year. It's better that Bush gets the blame, rather than the conservative Republicans.

Perhaps there will be a "throw the bums out" movement in the election that will benefit the GOP, since most of Congress is Democrat. Also, if Barry looks like he's going to win this thing, I would expect a lot of people in the red states (or the red part of blue states) to be very fearful, and want to have a Republican congresscritter from their district to keep reparations to an absolute minimum.

Oh brother, you’ve just proved my point! I’ve read enough. I have a right to my opinion too! Where did I say you couldn’t express your ‘dissent’?

You’re right, this isn’t Communist Russia. An Pres. Bush supporters still have as much right to express OUR dissent, even against you! This board is still for all of us, isn’t it? Yes, you read right, in my own opinion, you now are a ‘basher’! (notice I said “in my own opinion) If that makes you mad, that’s your problem!

I’m out of here! Enjoy Pres. Obama!

Good post!

No, bad post ... and allow me to tell you why. Firstly, I am a firm believer that Bush is a good person but I also believe that roughly more than 75 percent of bad things happening to good people are preventable. Example: Cancer, heart disease, etc., being mostly the result of bad health practices. Business failures being caused by poor decisions; divorces caused because of immaturity, selfishness and sinful lust.

I'm a living example of bad things happening but, about 28 years ago, I came across the same kind of priciples this book is making click here and I made myself a vow to change for the better after about the same number of years that I had failed just about everything I tried (career, marriage, and a relationship with God).

As a manager, Bush has not been proactive. He is the model of the typical "spectator" manager in failures to anticipate and head off troubles. While it is true that 9-11 and Iraq had to be dealt with, it is also true that he could have, should have put the right team in to deal with the situations if the first one couldn't--i.e. Pretraeus rather than Casey, Gates rather than Rumsfeld, Tony Snow rather than Scott McClellan. Katrina, the current economic mess, immigration, conflict with the "drive by" media--just about everything people are angry about could have, should have been dealt differently if the right folks were in charge.

Reagan delegated authority to people but he also held them accountable for their actions. Bush excused bad managers because of misplaced loyalties. Frankly, I do not know if I am more tired of Bush or of the people constantly excusing his demonstrated managerial incompetence.

When your boy McCain loses a 300 EV landslide in Nov, look in the mirror to see why. You are yours carried a hysteric grudge for 8 years because your boy lost in 2000. You did everything you could to sabatoge Bush and the GOP. You never seem capable of grasping the fact that the mud was splattering all over your own guy too. Most voters only notice the R next to both McCain and Bush’s names.
