I was thinking that she did not want to name any "brand names" because that would increase pressure on the editorial boards of those publications to "tell her something". But it would have been quite safe for her to mention one or two leading newspapers in her state, that would have been quite normal for a governor.
She's going to have to stop avoiding specificity, there are truly some safe answers for any politician to give!
Hoping she’d say, “God talks to me.” Or, “Rush and Freerepublic.” Too bad the gov didn’t feel like playing. Now, why does your office have threir panties in a wad? You’re falling for MSN BS.
that’s just little stevie b, he drops by now and then to hate on Sarah and then leaves again.
This was a “gotcha” question, imho.
George Costanza would've said "I got it at the jerk store, looking for more of you."
Actually it’s none of Couric’s business where Governor Palin gets her news.
When the media starts reporting what Barry reads, who his friends are, and who his mentors were, then I’ll worry about what Gov. Palin is reading.
LOL....they are basically asking her what her religion is!!!
> Actually its none of Courics business where Governor Palin gets her news.
Fine, say that. No problem! She’d get props for having a spine. Or lie (it’s not like politicians can’t do that as easily as breathing) and say “Oh, Katie, I only ever watch your network, didn’t you know that?” Couric would have rolled over like a puppy getting her belly scratched, and it would never have come up again.
But don’t look like a high schooler trying to bluff an essay question, like she has in entirely too many questions so far. Once is only human, twice may be excusable depending on topics — but she’s got entirely too many “airhead moments” making the airwaves.
I remember Reagan saying that he did not read the news.
If Sarah had named a specific publication, Couric would have come back with recent cover stories from that publication and asked about those.
Couric was setting up a “gotcha” trap for Sarah and Sarah didn’t fall for it.
Good for our next Vice President.
She is awesome.
Couric was asinine for following up and turning it into a gotcha. The only thing more asinine is that the exchange itself is reported as news.
What she should do is begin treating them like the enemies they are.
> What she should do is begin treating them like the enemies they are.
That would be fine too — refreshing, and possibly effective. But I’m sorry, the way she’s going she just seems like a fish out of water to me.
Why Katie...Of course I get my news from the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric!
No one asks Obama where he get his bullsh*t.
And then add, “Why would I need to go anywhere else?!”

[pause]
Why would I need to go anywhere else?! :)
And when have either Obama or Biden been asked to cite where they get their news?
Katy desperately wanted to hear the Bible as an answer.
hehehe....woulda been kinda cool if she'd said "FreeRepublic.com" as an answer.
