Jim Robinson shows exactly what is at stake in this election.

Democrat legacy Fifty million killed; Bush legacy Fifty million liberated!

Democrat legacy: Fifty million innocent American babies killed; Bush legacy: Fifty million citizens of Afghanistan and Iraq liberated!

Obama (The One) is the most extreme abortionist ever to run for president. He will advance Planned Parenthood's gruesome agenda and war ON America's unborn. He will appoint abortionist judges. Abortion is his litmus test. Killing babies his legacy.

Fifty million innocent Americans slaughtered is the American Holocaust. It is the Democrat legacy.

Bush's legacy is fighting for life and liberty. He appoints conservative judges who interpret and abide by the constitution rather than implement the liberal agenda. He projects America's military power to defend and secure American freedom, America's interests and freedom throughout the world. McCain is pro-life, pro-liberty. He will continue the Reagan/Bush pro-life, pro-liberty legacy...

“Suicide is a Human Right”: Dignitas Suicide Doctor

SCHWERZENBACH, Switzerland, October 27, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) – According to a Swiss physician, suicide “is a human right” that must be accommodated by allowing doctors to prescribe lethal doses of sedatives, so that patients do not have to resort to more “brutal” methods. Alois Geiger wrote in the Times on Friday that he is one of three doctors who prescribe drugs to people who come to the legal “suicide clinic” Dignitas in Schwerzenbach, Switzerland (See: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/health/artic...).

In his piece, entitled “Why I prescribe drugs for suicide,” Geiger wrote that lethal doses of sedatives allow a person “to end his life in a pain-free way, free of brutality, and moreover to do so not alone but accompanied by people standing lovingly at his side.”

Sarah Palin's Record as Alaska Gov Showed Support for Special Needs Kids

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Sarah Palin gave a major policy address last week on how she will be an advocate for special needs children should she become the nation's next vice-president. But, does her record as the governor of Alaska demonstrate that support or is it merely an election ploy to gain votes?

The answer appears to be a resounding yes -- as the Palin administration put more money behind education and support services for disabled children and their families.

During her speech Palin said, "as governor, I've succeeded in securing additional funding and assistance for students with special needs. By 2011, I will have tripled the funding available to these students."

In praise of single-issue voting

I have become something I once reviled: a single-issue voter. I used to think that a wise voter tries to discern each candidate's intentions on major issues, and then casts his vote based on an assessment of who will do the greatest overall good—or the least evil. I thought those voters who support a candidate based on a single issue—whether he will increase school funding, say, or lower taxes—were shirking their duty to consider the full ramifications of putting someone in office. What good is electing someone who is "right" on one thing, I thought, if he gets everything else disastrously wrong? This was the reasoning I used as I congratulated myself for wisely apportioning my votes based on utilitarian calculations.

Now I suspect this sort of calculation misses something. I've become convinced that a nation which sanctions the extinguishing of unborn children, and further, the outright execution of near-term infants, doesn't deserve admiration even if it gets every other policy right.

I used to include abortion as part of my voting calculus, mind you, but only a part. What if a candidate is pro-life, for example, but favors disastrous tax and trade policies that would consign people to lower living standards? Or what if he wants to use our military in pursuit of ill-defined foreign policy goals? Shouldn't these things factor into my equation?

Those other issues certainly affect a country's safety, prosperity, and greatness. But I've come to believe that a nation that tolerates destruction of innocents deserves neither safety nor prosperity nor greatness. We've descended into barbarism, and it poisons how we treat the elderly, the incapacitated, even ourselves. We shouldn't be surprised, having made life a utilitarian calculation, that more and more humans become inconvenient.

Group Reminds Voters Barack Obama Wants All Pro-Life Laws Overturned

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A leading pro-life group that works with state legislators to pass laws that reduce abortions is reminding voters that presidential candidate Barack Obama wants all of those laws overturned. Americans United for Life says Obama's position will increase abortions after they've dropped to historic lows.

The organization is releasing an open letter to newspapers across the battleground state of Ohio questioning why Obama favors a Congressional bill, the so-called Freedom of Choice Act, that would overturn every limit on abortion.

"Many people still don't even know about this radical bill and Obama has promised Planned Parenthood it would be his first priority in the White House," AUL president Charmaine Yoest told LifeNews.com on Tuesday.

(Ruth Bader) Ginsburg Criticizes Roe v. Wade Abortion Ruling (Huh???)

While conservatives worry about the kind of Supreme Court justices a President Obama might appoint, new questions about the rightness of the high court’s abortion rulings have arisen from within.

In remarks last week at Princeton University, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was highly critical of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, which effectively allowed abortion on demand nationwide. She suggested the court had gone too far and that a more incremental decision “would have been an opportunity for a dialogue with the state legislators” and a chance for states to take the lead on the issue...

How can Catholics be voting for Obama? (Mother Teresa speaks on Abortion

"America needs no words from me to see how your decision in Roe v. Wade has deformed a great nation. The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. It has sown violence and discord at the heart of the most intimate human relationships. It has aggravated the derogation of the father's role in an increasingly fatherless society. It has portrayed the greatest of gifts -- a child -- as a competitor, an intrusion, and an inconvenience. (a punishment?) It has nominally accorded mothers unfettered dominion over the independent lives of their physically dependent sons and daughters. And, in granting this unconscionable power, it has exposed many women to unjust and selfish demands from their husbands or other sexual partners. Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being's entitlement by virtue of his humanity. The right to life does not depend, and must not be declared to be contingent, on the pleasure of anyone else, not even a parent or a sovereign." Pro-Life Group Asks Obama Why He Supports Removing All “Common Sense” Restrictions on Abortion

October 29, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In an open letter “on behalf of all Ohio parents,” American United for Life (AUL) asks Senator Barack Obama to explain his radical position on abortion, particularly regarding his promise immediately to sign the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), should he be elected to the presidency.

FOCA is a pro-abortion piece of legislation first introduced in the late 1980’s that has since received strong support from pro-abortion politicians such as Barbara Boxer and Hilary Clinton.

AUL calls FOCA a “tremendous threat to the rights of everyday Americans, to women, and to the unborn.” The pro-life organization refers to the fact that FOCA would annihilate all previously instated restrictions on abortion, such as parental consent legislation, freedom of conscience for religious medical practitioners and hospitals, and previous limits on public funding for abortions. The legislation would also pave the way for non-physicians to commit abortions...

Obama told Planned Parenthood that the first thing he would do is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. This is so extreme that it allows minors to get an abortion without their parent’s knowledge, and forces doctors to kill unborn babies (no conscience clause allowed), even if they don’t want to (according to a guest I heard on Laura Ingraham’s show).

I love you, mum: First words of brain-damaged girl, 6, given power of speech

Elke Wisbey has been able to tell her mother she loves her for the first time

A severely handicapped little girl who cannot walk or talk has used a machine to tell her mother for the first time: 'I love you.'

Six-year-old Elke Wisbey, who was born brain-damaged, has been able to communicate with her family by using a high-tech gadget which tracks her eye movements.

The £17,000 MyTobii Smartbox machine from Sweden detects which icons Elke is looking at by using tiny lasers.

When her eyes settle on an icon on the screen of the Smartbox, a pre-programmed voice speaks the word or phrase for her.

Just a few days after setting up the equipment, Elke's parents, Glynnis and Matt Wisbey, described how their daughter started using her eyes to repeat the words 'I love you' over and over again.

[snip]

'She was looking at the "I love you" icon and I couldn't believe it, she kept doing it.

'I said to Elke "are you telling Daddy you love him?" and she pointed at the icon "yes".

[snip]

Readers of a local newspaper raised money to buy the specially-adapted machine for the family from Bearsted, Kent.

The Wisbey family are all learning how to help Elke use the machine, but the little girl, who will never be able to walk or talk for herself or feed herself, has mastered it more quickly than any of them.

[snip]

'... We've been overwhelmed by people's support, it takes some people years to raise this kind of money and we've done it in a summer.'

Hispanic Actor Eduardo Verastegui Reminds Latino Voters Obama Pro-Abortion

Los Angeles, CA (LifeNews.com) -- Hispanic actor Eduardo Verastegui has a last-minute reminder for Hispanic voters nationwide: Barack Obama doesn't share your pro-life values on abortion. The actor has released videos on abortion and the elections that have been popular in the Latino community.

In his latest, Verastegui explains the crisis of abortion in America, while explaining Barack Obama's pro-abortion track record and agenda.

Before producing this video, Verastegui, 34, became famous singing in the popular Latino band Kairo and acting in telenovelas. People Magazine en Español recently voted him one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the world...

I have just posted two threads about Robert Lavers trying to save his wife Heather from being killed like Terri was. Her sister and mother (though the mother denies it) are saying that a mere SIX WEEKS of the all-encompassing "PVS" is long enough.

Though the court has given him a month to prove that Robert is able to care for Heather, I find it odd that the Mikey the sociopath adulterer was considered a capable guardian while a loving husband might not be.

Guardianship Battle Begins In Schiavo-Like Case

George Lavers says he and his wife Heather agreed that “Only God can stop your heart."

GIBSONTON - Robert Lavers remembers waking precisely at 7 the morning of Sept. 9.

He and his daughter had fallen asleep in the living room. His wife, Heather, was still in bed, which was unusual.

"I went to nudge her and she didn't wake," Robert recalled.

She still hasn't.

His 38-year-old wife had suffered a cardiac arrest. Doctors say she has been in a persistent vegetative state ever since and likely will never come out of it.

That medical prognosis has begun a chain of events that, like the infamous Terri Schiavo case, will pit a husband against his wife's family and potentially reignite the national debate over who decides whether a seemingly hopeless patient lives or dies.

A Toledo judge is expected to appoint a legal guardian Wednesday to speak on Heather Lavers' behalf.

Her sister in Ohio is asking the court to grant her decision-making power over all medical care for Heather. Robert says his sister-in-law considers his wife brain-dead and would eventually "pull the plug."

He wouldn't, he says, because he and his wife discussed the issue and agreed on one thing: "Only God can stop your heart.''

Judge Grants Man Time In Wife's Guardianship Case

Robert Lavers has another month to hone his arguments about why he shouldn't lose the right to decide how long his wife is kept alive.

An Ohio judge today granted Lavers' attorney 30 more days to prepare his case before hearing arguments on whether Lavers' sister-in-law will become his wife's legal guardian.

Heather Lavers has been in a persistent vegetative state since she had a heart attack and lost consciousness in her Tampa home about six weeks ago.

Her sister, a nurse at The Toledo Hospital, persuaded Robert Lavers to move his wife to the Ohio facility and assumed the role of temporary health surrogate. Now the sister, Heidi Kaczala, is fighting for guardianship, which would give her authority to make end-of-life decisions.

"I'm the natural guardian," said Robert Lavers, who has been married to Heather Lavers for 17 years. "This is a horrible distraction. I shouldn't have to be worrying about this while I'm trying to save Heather."

Kaczala considers her sister brain dead and likely would favor ending extraordinary life-sustaining measures, Lavers said.

"We will not be silent. We are your bad conscience. The White Rose will give you no rest."

jimluke01 has a thread on a great editorial by Matt Barber showing EXACTLY what to expect from Obama and his Nazis.

Obama Vows Blood for the Bloodthirsty

It’s a day like any other. The kids are safe at school and you’re at work wishing you weren’t. All is as it should be. Then your cell phone rings. On the other end is your twelve-year-old daughter’s junior high school guidance counselor. Amid nervous hemming and hawing you detect that something’s horribly wrong. Then the words, “I’m sorry, she didn’t make it.”

At first it doesn’t register. Then it clicks and your soul is pierced. The room begins to spin and rapidly close in. You sink deep and grab for something. But nothing on this earth will hold you up.

Nightmare becomes reality as you learn that your little girl has just bled to death – alone and afraid – on a cold slab at the local Planned Parenthood clinic, the victim of a botched abortion. She was driven there, unbeknownst to you, by the very guidance counselor to whom you speak.

You didn’t even know she was pregnant. Like any child in her shoes, she was afraid to tell you – afraid of what you’d think – afraid you’d be ashamed. So she told someone else. Someone she trusted. Someone she thought cared for her. Someone who decidedly did not.

No one called. No one asked. No one said a word. They didn’t have to. They killed your baby and your baby’s baby in secret.

You feel powerless.

You should.

You are.

It was all legal, you see, and there’s not a thing you can do about it – nothing.

As Tuesday’s election fast approaches, you’re officially on notice. It’s not a question of whether similar scenarios will play out under an Obama presidency. It’s a question of how often and to what degree.

Former Miss America Angela Perez Baraquio Urges Pro-Life Vote for President

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Former Miss America Angela Perez Baraquio has released a new election video urging Americans to vote pro-life on election day. The 2001 beauty pageant queen and former Miss Hawaii 2000 is asking voters to "end the reign of Roe v. Wade" which allows virtually unlimited abortions.

Baraquio urges voters to vote pro-life on the presidential race between Barack Obama and John McCain because of the far-reaching effects of the Supreme Court nominations by the next president.

"As a teacher and mother I see just how important it is to protect children," she says in the new video. "Did you know that in the United States, the most dangerous place for a child to be is in the mother's womb?"

"If Roe is not overturned, the children I teach will likely grow up as part of a culture of death learning that when we had our one real chance to end this atrocity, we didn't do enough," Baraquio adds.

New Video Ad: Barack Obama Wants to Reverse Ban on Partial-Birth Abortions

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Barack Obama is so out of step with mainstream America that he favors overturning a ban on partial-birth abortions that polls show more than 70 percent of Americans support. That's the message of a new Internet ad distributed by the Family Research Council.

The ad mentions how the respected late Democratic Sen. Daniel Moynihan supported the ban and described the abortion procedure for what it is.

"Democratic Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan drew a line against partial-birth abortion, calling it 'too close to infanticide,'" the FRC ad says. "But Barack Obama crossed that line, voting against a measure that would have banned partial-birth abortion in Illinois."

Wonkette Suggests Trig Wishes He'd Been Aborted

Wonkette appends its comment, suggesting—and there really is no way to sugar coat it—that given the choice Trig would rather have been aborted:

Little baby Trig must be so glad he wasn’t aborted for this, his first Halloween, because his parents dressed him up like a political party symbol to be carried around at snarling political events. Aww. Isn’t life just grand?

There might be ways Wonkette could sink lower, but none come to mind at the moment.

Obama Closing Catholic Hospitals?

On Oct. 7, 2007, Sen. Barack Obama spoke to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and promised, "The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That's the first thing I'll do."

What is the Freedom of Choice Act? It is the most sweeping pro-abortion legislation ever proposed in the United States.

In a letter dated Sept. 19 to members of Congress, Philadelphia's Justin Cardinal Rigali rightly warned:

"Despite its deceptive title, FOCA would deprive the American people in all 50 states of the freedom they now have to enact modest restraints and regulations on the abortion industry. FOCA would coerce all Americans into subsidizing and promoting abortion with their tax dollars. And FOCA would counteract any and all sincere efforts by government to reduce abortions in our country.

"The operative language of FOCA is twofold. First it creates a 'fundamental right' to abortion throughout the nine months of pregnancy, including a right to abort a fully developed child in the final weeks for undefined "health" reasons. No government body at any level would be able to "deny or interfere with" this newly created federal right. Second, it forbids government at all levels to "discriminate" against the exercise of this right "in the regulation or provision of benefits, facilities, services, or information." For the first time, abortion on demand would be a national entitlement that government must condone and promote in all public programs affecting pregnant women," said the cardinal...

Washington Voters Should Oppose Initiative 1000, Say No to Assisted Suicide

When voters in Washington state head to the polls on Tuesday, they will consider Initiative 1000, which would make the state the second in the nation to legalize the grisly practice of assisted suicide. Washington residents should reject assisted suicide to a solution to helping elderly, terminally ill and other patients.

In the minds of most Americans, assisted suicide brings to mind Doctor Kevorkian, the iconoclastic crusader who appeared more interested in publicity than putting the interests of patients first.

While a Jack Kevorkian may not come to Washington to flout the current laws, making the practice legal doesn't help patients.

For many, assisted suicide involves the same principles as the abortion debate -- where death becomes a handy solution when government or society seeks quick fix solution to a problem...

California Proposition 4 for Parental Notice on Abortion Leads in Friday Poll

Sacramento, CA (LifeNews.com) -- The latest survey of California voters finds a very narrow lead for Proposition 4, the measure that would require parental notification before a minor girl can have an abortion. The results of a Field Poll, released Friday, show a narrow 45-43 percentage point lead with 12 percent undecided.

The good news for backers of the measure is that the notification initiative leads among people who have already voted -- giving them a last-minute chance to persuade the rest.

The survey finds the larger lead the parental rights measure enjoyed in earlier surveys has diminished as Election Day nears. The measure had an eight point lead in September and a nine point lead in July.

When Life Begins - Will politics trump science?

When does the life of a human individual begin? Although the question is of obvious importance for our public policy debates over abortion and embryonic-stem-cell research, politicians have avoided it like the plague. Of late, though, things seem to be changing. Recently some of our nation’s most prominent political leaders, from the Speaker of the House to both contenders for the office of president, have weighed in on the question.

Faced with the complicated and not-very-widely-known facts of human embryology, most people are inclined to agree with the sentiment expressed by Speaker Pelosi, who has stated “I don’t think anybody can tell you when… human life begins.”

Yet is Speaker Pelosi correct? Is it actually the case that no one can tell you with any degree of authority when the life of a human being actually begins?

No, it is not. Treating the question as some sort of grand mystery, or expressing or feigning uncertainty about it, may be politically expedient, but it is intellectually indefensible. Modern science long ago resolved the question. We actually know when the life of a new human individual begins...

Mich. Bishop to Voters: Abortion can Only be Outweighed by an Evil Equivalent "in Number and Kind"

SAGINAW, Michigan, November 3, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Bishop Robert J. Carlson of Saginaw issued a pastoral letter in the eve of the U.S. campaign season, urging Catholics to heed the "special burden on the conscience" imposed by the destruction of innocent life, particularly as found in abortion.

In the first section of his letter, Bishop Carlson poses the question: "Isn't abortion just one issue among others in this election?" He answers, "No. Any serious Catholic voter must recognize abortion as the premier threat to human rights and dignity in our day."

Because abortion consists in the murder of about one million unborn children every year, says the bishop, "A Catholic can, in good conscience, vote for a pro-choice candidate only if other issues outweigh this one in number and in kind."

For example, the abortion issue outweighs the death penalty because abortion ends a far greater number of human lives than the handful killed by the death penalty, and because abortion is a graver kind of evil by targeting only the most innocent form of life, rather than those found guilty in a court of law.

Bishop Carlson notes that there are other serious issues voters must weigh in the presidential election; however, "a Catholic needs to recognize that all issues do not have the same weight.

"Can any other issue, or combination of issues, attain sufficient gravity to outweigh the directly willed destruction of 1 million children every year?"
