Maybe McCain (who is not dumb) voted for it because he thought, based on his knowledge, that it was the right thing to do?

Maybe you disagree. But there are many other issues in this campaign, and believe me, McCain is 100% better than Osama Obama on every one of them.

However, he is much better than Obama.

Sure he is.

I think you are correct in that the house will block it.

However, I have to say that I had my check book out this afternoon to send McCain $500.00 but then I decided that I would wait to see what happens tonight.

Well now that I have seen, the check book will be closed without that donation being made.

I have to vote for him. I consider BO to be the most dangerous person in the world today, including Osama. So I have to vote for McCain, but I don't have to give him any money.

The idea of all of those earmarks is disgusting, but more disgusting is that the senate is continuing the same practices that got us into this mess.

A living example of the old saw about the idiot doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Our problems will not be cured until we correct or repeal all of the bad legislation that brought on this financial situation.

What a shame. McCain had the opportunity to be a hero again and blew it.

Its not $4000 for each of us. According to the IRS, in 2005FY, 99,880,223 actually had a tax liability and actually paid taxes.

This means that each of us taxing paying taxpayers just got stiffed with a bill for $7008.39.

Folks we may not like everything in this, but we have got to pass something.

If we don’t do something to calm the markets and the nervous American public, we WILL fall into a deep recession.

And if this latest Congressional giveaway doesn't stop the bleeding, then what? There is a strong possibility of that happening. So long as the root causes of our current economic mess aren't corrected, we are going to have problems.

The current Senate and rejected House bailout plans do very little to address the reasons why we are in the situation we are today.

you say Palin as if you think she’s against the bailout.

Our pretty young conservative Alaskan is against whatever she's being told to be against.

I’m going to vote for mccain no matter what. but I know what’s out there: Americans are angry about the bailout and mccain is going along with it! This is Dole all over again.

This is despicable! These people really want to lead our country to socialism. This is VERY upsetting!

I can’t believe McCain voted for this sham! All that talk about “reforming Washington” and “ending earmarks....” and then he votes for THIS????

I’ll still vote for McCain because I can’t bear the thought of Obamanation being elected, but my confidence in McCain has dropped significantly.

Our hope is now in Sarah. I hope she will speak out against this atrocious bill!

I am sick that our candidate...

He's not our candidate, Sarah is. A vote for him has to be cast to be a vote for her. She is stuck reciting the party line on this, but when she gets her own national elected office, I expect her to be the voice of truth and reason in the McCain administration.

If we do get him as President, we will need the House Republicans to keep us from sinking into socialism.

My political antennae (actually I just do a VX of the Michelle Malkin site) said it would pass the Senate by a wide margin. Glad I stayed put. The big one doesn’t happen yet. 2011.

VX=volatility index
After pegging off the meter for the first three days of the bailout, her site backed off today. That was a tell it was over.

OH NOOOOO! Not a deep recession! How would Americans survive that?!

Oh, I know what's better. FULL BLOWN AMERICAN SOCIALISM.

Sheeple like you are not Conservatives, you are sellouts.

U.S. House of Representatives are our only hope now.

Acorn may not be included in this Bailout Package.

However, ACORN got billions in last “Housing Bill.”

http://sweetness-light.com/archive/dems-have-pushed-acorn-bailout-since-july

“The organization’s main advocacy group lobbied hard for passage of the housing bill, which provides nearly $5 billion for affordable housing, financial counseling and mortgage restructuring for people and neighborhoods affected by the housing meltdown. A third Acorn arm, its housing corporation, does a large share of that work on the ground.”

Okay then, not only will I be looking under the sofa cushions but I’ll also have to start checking under vending machines (you might be surprised that most people aren’t willing to crawl in filth for a nickel)

You and me both. What we need is someone that will stand up and say that the American left is running our country down the drain. What we get is McCain who will not listen, and is throwing it all away while appeasing the left. We will sooner or later have to deal most harshly with the American left, or live as they dictate.

Who will stand? Who will...
