"Some of Mr. McCain’s responses to questions about issues that have been prominent in the press for the past few weeks came across as sarcastic – sometimes testy."

Really? in who's opinion? Consider the source.

LOL

The voters were frustrated with McCain in the debate because they wanted to see him passionate and fired up.

So, here he is showing a small bit of ire and he’s derided as being sarcastic and saddled with an anger problem.

Aaaaaah. I love the press.

If McCain was a Dem the words would be spirited & passionate.

I'm sorry that I read the comments there. Ignorant pukes question the health care coverage that we give to those in uniform.

The Des Moines Register is to the left of Pravda. They will dutifully endorse Senator Barack Obama, although Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney of the Green Party is really more representative of their editorial board. Why in the world would Senator John McCain even go to their office on Locust Street in the first place?!

Watching McCain of late I've been reminded of the scene in the movie, "Top Gun", in which the fighter pilot protagonist (who, IIRC, was also called "Maverick") was urged to set aside his timidity, and "engage...get back in the fight". This is a hopeful sign, but only in the sense that the scales may be falling from the Senator's eyes where his MSM buddies (and their great regard for him) are concerned. One can only hope that action will follow anger. The truth is that when John Paul Jones said, "I have not yet begun to fight", he and his crew had already put up a hell of a battle. If John McCain were to say, "I have not yet begun to fight", he would only be overstating the obvious.

As the experience of George W. Bush has shown, the American people have little respect, and even less use, for a President who won't return fire at his political opponents, even those who hide behind a byline.

I love sarcasm. This would make me feel all warm and fuzzy towards McCain if I wasn’t so totally pissed off about the vote today.

Why is McCain still wasting his campaign finances and valuable remaining time in the complete-waste-of-a-state like Iowa??

Seriously! McCain is going to lose Iowa by 10 points if not more. He didn’t even bother to show up for the GOP primary there but now he wants to waste time there?

Is McCain going to join the Ethanol Cult in Iowa? Cuz if he isn’t then he is wasting our valuable time. Iowa is on the take as a state and if you aren’t on the Ethanol Pork Train then you might as well not waste even a visit there. It’s not like McCain is going to Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont or Hawaii but he has no better chance of winning Iowa than he does those states.
