I was a foot soldier for Pres. Bush during the last election. Your uniformed, and let’s leave it at that.
I was also in a major battle ground state in 2004. We had over one million registered voters in our county and boxes stacked to the ceiling to get out the vote. It was early October, yet no one was lined up to hit the pavement this early (and I was asking, why not?) Plus the “office manager” had the offices closed ALL day on Sundays! The same well meaning young woman sets up a voter registration drive at her megachurch and over 3/4 of the apps. turn out to be” D “registrations. I seriously wondered if she was sent to sabotage the Bush campaign, but it was more the case of inexperience as a result of cronyism.
After desperate pleas for help, the GOP org. finally came in with paid workers and picked up the slack for the final few weeks. In spite of a miserable local performance, we still beat Kerry, as a result of stellar performance in other counties :^)
