McCain plans fiercer strategy against Obama

WASHINGTON — Sen. John McCain and his Republican allies are readying a newly aggressive assault on Sen. Barack Obama's character, believing that to win in November they must shift the conversation back to questions about the Democrat's judgment, honesty and personal associations, several top Republicans said.
With just a month to go until Election Day, McCain's team has decided that its emphasis on the senator's biography as a war hero, experienced lawmaker and straight-talking maverick is insufficient to close a growing gap with Obama. The Republican's campaign also is eager to move the conversation away from the economy, an issue that strongly favors Obama and has helped him to a lead in many recent polls.
"We're going to get a little tougher," a senior Republican operative said, indicating that a fresh batch of TV ads are coming. "We've got to question this guy's associations. Very soon. There's no question that we have to change the subject here," said the operative, who was not authorized to discuss strategy and spoke on the condition of anonymity.

They need to also attack Obama on economic issues. For the love of good Obama was the second largets recepient of funds from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. HOW CAN THEY NOT REPEATEDLY BASH OBAMA WITH THIS?
And they were silent while the mainstream media was busy blaming “financial deregulation” under the Republicans for this. Financial deregulation has nothing to do with this mess. The main culprit is subprime lending supported by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, not “Wall Street Greed” like Sarah Palin says.
People are going to care less about wright and ayers or even Biden. Attack Obama and tear him down for what he is, a pretender to the throne.

I agree with you that it is totally connected. I had articles earlier on Obama and his ties to ACORN. Going to see if I still have them saved. It was an eye opener.

Yet for some reason, he just voted for a bill that was $150 billion more pork-laden that the bill he "helped kill" in the House on Monday.

Note: Obama’s ties to ACORN go back to before he went to Law School which the MSM “conveniently” forgets. IMO, Obama and who is pulling the strings behind has been using ACORN to see how much they could fraud before this election and when little happened, ACORN is fully mobilized to steal the election. In 2001, the Woods Fund, a Chicago-based nonprofit that describes itself as a group helping the disadvantaged, provided a $40,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network, or AAAN, for which Khalidi’s wife, Mona, serves as president. The Fund provided a second grant to the AAAN for $35,000 in 2002.
Obama was a director of the Woods Fund board from 1999 to Dec. 11, 2002, according to the Fund’s website. According to tax filings, Obama received compensation of $6,000 per year for his service in 1999 and 2001.
Obama served on the Wood’s Fund board alongside William C. Ayers, a member of the Weathermen terrorist group which sought to overthrow of the U.S. government and took responsibility for bombing the U.S. Capitol in
1971.
Ayers, who still serves on the Woods Fund board, contributed $200 to Obama’s senatorial campaign fund and has served on panels with Obama at numerous public speaking engagements. Ayers admitted to involvement in the bombings of U.S. governmental buildings in the 1970s. He is a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The AAAN in 2005 called a billboard opposing a North Carolina-New Mexico joint initiative to deny driver’s licenses to illegal aliens a “bigoted attack on Arabs and Muslims.”
Speakers at AAAN dinners and events routinely have taken an anti-Israel line.
The group co-sponsored a Palestinian art exhibit, titled, “The Subject of Palestine,” that featured works related to what some Palestinians call the “Nakba” or “catastrophe” of Israel’s founding in 1948.

I had it explained to me why Zero ads are running on the local DC stations....because of northern VA.
But now, they’re running on the local boondocks TV station which *might*, via the antenna on the mountain beside me, on a clear day, reach Martinsburg WV, MD from Frederick on out to the west and some of southern PA.
Via cable [Antietam cable] the reach is even smaller.
*None* of those places will vote for him.
I have seen McCain signs all over ~Frederick~...even downtown and this is unprecedented.
What is -really- going on?
If that is true why oh why has 0’s poll numbers gained in the last 2 weeks? Looks like the people are blaming the Republicans to me.

Yep, this one’s gonna be determined by view on the economy, and at this date it’s not good enough to promise lower taxes (while Obama pitches his own (95% cut’)and question Obama’s judgment or leadership. Obama has to be shown for the Marxist, economic fraud that he is.
This really is what September was for, but they passed on doing what they had to do. And of course their position on the whole mortgage/credit bailout fraud has only made it tougher. Now it’s sounding like they’re going to pass on doing what they should have done a month ago.
I think our only hope is that they radically set Palin free—and then learn from her lead that Obama can and should be taken on with this.
Good point Marie, not only that, but everyone here is buying into the polls they are putting out. We here at FReerepublic have been educated about this!! Remember the facts posted about a week ago from that fella who posted the info about EVERY SINGLE PREZ ELECTION since 1964? How NEVER ONCE was the spread between Dim turnout and Republican turnout WAS NEVER MORE THAN 4%? IOW, EVERY SINGLE POLL is oversampling Dims, some as much as 14 FREAKING PERCENT!!!
