Virginia Beach is a Rep stronghold. NoVA has become more and more Dem. One third of the population of the state lives there. Kerry won Fairfax County in 2004, the first time a Dem has done that since LBJ. Obama has set up offices in every county in the state—over 50 of them. McCain has 10 offices. Early voting started last week. This is going to be very, very close.

Get a grip!
7% in “registered voters” or suddenly adjusted for abnormal Dem turnout polls don’t count.

Since the last presidental election Michigan has cracked down on voter fraud. They deleted 65,000 registrations because people were dead, not residents, etc. I know Detroit will never change, but the rest of Michigan is sick of the the Democrat party. I know a lot of people who are changing their voting habits and will vote Republican this year. I’m just glad I am not there.

Yes, you’re right. They need to set Sarah free, let her campaign everywhere.
Let Sarah be Sarah! I am sure there are people in the GOP who are looking forward to 2012 and are thinking that regardless of what happens in November, Sarah is going to be running for President in 2012.

IF the decision was to abandon Michigan it is wrong because it HURTS lower GOP races. Stupid.Mr. MC said the same thing. Personally, I think the McMaverick only wants to run for president, he doesn't really want to be president.

The senators are fatuous socialist bastards, the governor is a complete idiot and most of the so-called 'conservative' representatives have ACU records of under 50%. The Democrats are in the basement. The economy has tanked to the level where it can never recover because the main industry is socialist academia.
And, yet, the RNC/GOP chooses not to make those arguments (perhaps not in quite those words, but to make the case nonetheless) It's really sad.

Ok, but I’m not entirely buying that.
McCain is not the one spending money like a drunken sailor.

Why does it always have to be a choice between “clueless morons” and “dishonest creeps” in Michigan??? WHY?
To: IbJensen
I'm in Michigan and welcome Sarah here. The first picture and and any regular Freeper knows, I'm a picture guy is of of Grosse Ile. It is a magic island at the mouth of the Detroit River, where it opens into Lake Erie. The second picture is another of my favorites of the US and Canadian flags at sunset and the last is of the Grosse Ile North Light House, a true land mark in our community. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Comments are sincerely invited.

Blu,
No I am not counting you out, In fact whole state is red, except for a few counties.
It's the 4 counties Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and Wayne that put it in the Blue column if my memory is correct.
My point is not to snub the rest of the state, but to pick off the socially conservative democrats and indies in these counties to replicate what Reagan did, i.e. the "Macomb County Democrats".
If Team McCain has more money and it was a month ago sure, swing the entire state.
The worst part of it is living in one of those 4 counties, the folks that have left the state for economic reasons for the large part are Conservative. The GOP IMHO has lost a chunk of it's base here in MI.

but if you are running out of money - why not pick the places you need more votes in??
The problem is the McCain camp is having to shift scarce
campaign dollars to Virginia, Florida, and North Carolina.
Red states that are drifting away from the GOP.

We all need to help Sarah and e-mail her talking points for her defense against leftist creeps. She cannot win using the warm urine responses that the McCain camp is feeding her. Does anyone have an e-mail address to contact her?.One suggestion that I have is when she is asked about abortion is to say “ You know, the left is always telling us how to live and what to eat so to stay healthy, so why aren't our young woman being told that there is a possibility that abortions or birth control pills may one reason we are having an increase in breast cancer”.

Sarah is definitely smarter than anyone in McCain's camp.
You and I are smarter than anyone in McCain's camp at this point - the people running his campaign have been incompetent - they keep screwing up their advertising, they haven't done a good job on coaching as far as the debates (they should have let Sarah off her leash against Biden instead of forcing her to memorize a few talking points and keep going back to them, thereby making her look like an idiot), and they are keeping Sarah out of the loop on important stuff, like the decision to pull out of Michigan.
McCain should have been on the phone to Karl Rove before now. I know McCain probably hates his guts for what Rove's people did in SC in 2000, but he needs to decide what's more important - his personal feelings or winning.

Not according to Mason-Dixon...It’s McCain up by 2!
To: IbJensen
I am beginning to think McCain’speople are as bad as Dole’s and Bush’s
Depressing as hell
If he wins it will be due to the sanity of grassroots base—disgruntled Hillary types —and blue collar democrats who ain’t votin for no Obama

Ever consider that it is Obama/Biden who are targeting the wrong area in VA?Do I detect irony? Hell , if Obama kept showing up in my location, it would make me want to vote against him multiple times. There are places that, if he shows up at all, it will force even the drunks to get up early to vote against him.

Palin seems to be starting to assert herself more and possibly exercise a bit more independence from the McCain handlers.
At some point, I’m hoping that she will tell them:
“Look, I don’t want to lose this and I’m not going to let you take my budding national political career down with your careers in a landslide loss. I’m going to campaign more agressively in more states, including Michigan, and go after Obama hard. If that’s not agreeable to you, you’ll have to fire me or ask me to resign, because I won’t stay on this ticket and willingly go down with the ship.”
