Mr. McCain is right. People have no idea of the vast numbers of liberal scum that infest this state. One in eight people get food stamps. The realty market has crashed.

A friend ran for the state legislature. The number one concern among “voters” was how much money can you get me from government. He only got 31% of the vote in the district.

Hundreds of thousands of productive citizens have fled this state.

Michigan is a socialist/welfare hellhole. Frankly, the majority of people who live here are leftist pigs. They’re stupid, ignorant and would rob you and knife you in the back for a dollar bill.

Palin has spunk, but it’s better to use it in another state like Wisconsin or Minnesota.

...I won’t stay on this ticket and willingly go down with the ship.”

She is the linchpin of this meandering McCain campaign being mismanaged by his liberal handlers.

Nationwide, none. But I’ve won in Michigan, and Taildragger is right on the money.

Wayne, Washtenaw, Genesee, and Ingham are the four major democratic stronghold counties. Detroit, Ann Arbor and Ypsi, Flint, and Lansing and East Lansing. Oakland and Macomb are important, but winnable for either side.

McCain needs to quit being nice guy to other senators and start to fight. Michigan is a populist state, not to be confused with liberal.

McCain and Palin needs to make their case in the Flint and Saginaw suburbs, Bay City, Macomb County, and Downriver. McCain then needs to go to Oakland County and Grand Rapids, and send Palin over to Livingston County, Ottawa County, the thumb and North Michigan to fire up the social conservative part of the base base and social conservative democrats (and Michigan has a LOT of them, even two democrat congressmen are pro-life).

She and Todd could easily turn Michigan red if they did what she wants to do. They have more in common with the working class dems on the east side of the state than anyone running for office today, especially the communist Canadian ruining our state now.

I, literally, have not seen one alleged FReeper over the past 7 days conclude that Team McCain has made even ONE correct strategic decision....not one.

Oh please. I'll give you one... they let Sara be Sara. Fantastic debate followed up by a great interview on Fox. But reality is what it is. They need to campaign smarter for VA, which they are not doing. Allen is begging McCain to campaign in Hampton Rds and Allen knows the hard way... that is where Webb beat him in the '04 Senate race.

You’re not along. Before I solidify my thoughts along those lines, I’ll see how the debates go on Tuesday

"No Surrender" Sarah would be a huge hit in Michigan, in no small part because people there would know that she was standing with them despite the defeatism of the campaign staff.

"You betcha" she would be an even bigger folk hero than she already is.

I would love to see her challenge Obama to a debate. She could beat him easily if he actually accepted.

And if he said no, as would be likely, he would look like a coward.

This is the third state that appears to have come off the table since Obama’s campaign laid out an ambitious 18-state battlefield. His campaign also pulled out of Georgia, and Sarah Palin’s nomination appears to have put Alaska out of reach

"I want to get back to Michigan and I want to try," Palin told Fox News. "I fired off a quick e-mail and said, 'Oh, come on, you know, do we have to? Do we have to call it there?'"

I can't let this go...why would you send an email to someone who was so roundly excoriated in the press for not knowing how to use email. Oh, wait, she sent the email to the camp, not to the McMaverick himself.
