The Associated Press article on Sarah Palin’s comments about William Ayers is a Category 7 jaw-dropper.
Apparently, now even criticizing Obama’s associations with white violent radicals is racist: Analysis: Palin’s words carry racial tinge.
This really is the election in which the mainstream media have thrown all their claims to impartiality right into the sewer.

The larger purpose behind Palin’s broadside is to reintroduce the question of Obama’s associations.
For the McCain campaign, that makes Obama’s ties to Ayers as well as convicted felon Antoin “Tony” Rezko and the controversial minister Jeremiah Wright ripe for renewed criticism. And Palin brings a fresh voice to the argument.
Whether intended or not by the McCain campaign, portraying Obama as “not like us” is another potential appeal to racism. It suggests that the Hawaiian-born Christian is, at heart, un-American.

These people are so deep in the tank they’re clinging to the drain in the hope the water will run out before they drown.
I can’t even guess where this writer got his ideas. When I think of terrorists, I think of Ted Kyzcinski and Ramzi Yousef. Carlos the Jackal, the Bader - Meinhoff gang, Joanne Chesimard, the P.L.O. and the P.I.R.A. are all reminders that bomb throwers are scum no matter what language they speak. I suppose William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, and Kathy Boudin are more aptly compared to Richard Reid because all of their attempts to commit mass murder served only to make them look stupid.
The issue of “palling around” with Ayers shows how far the left will go to twist words to evade the truth. The common and obvious meaning of the phrase is association. Palling around with so and so at the bar? Palling around with Miss So and So at the office? Neither of those imply the kind of personal commitment and shared ideology involved in membership in activist groups.
Should a president spend his time working at politics with an avowed communist and wannabe mass murderer? No. If you do that, you can’t be the president. Should a president claim to be so stupid that he didn’t realize his associates’ crimes and convictions might one day cast him in a poor light? No, if you’re that stupid, you can’t be the president. Obama has no way out of this. Ayers and Dohrn can spew all the rhetoric they want. When it was time for them to act, they chose to slaughter innocents to make a point.
I should be sad that journalism, once briefly respected in this country for the pursuit of truth, is now a ragged, drunken beggar, demanding dollars from anyone who stops to hear their conspiracy theories and sob stories. But the beggar had over two hundred years to abandon his ideological binges and do the job he proposed. Now the audience is tired of the show and will no longer pay for the performance. They’ve lost us. They’re so busy telling us how important they are that they can’t even see themselves dressed in rags and rolling in dirt.
I have no time to listen to their fantasies. I live in reality.
I am not going to give them another dollar.
They stink.
I wish they would go away.

Douglas K. Daniel, paid no attention to the man behind the curtain. The Center for Public Integrity is one of many George Soros fronts. Soros pays the bills and his minions, whether they happen to work at the CPI or the Center for American Progress or Media Matters or wherever, dance to his tune. And Soros has made it his life’s work to bring down the Bush administration. He says it’s the “central focus of my life.”

I would ask Obama or any of his supporters: if Obama must lie about himself—to such an extent that he is presented as opposite his real self—in order to win, doesn’t it mean the real Obama is vastly inferior?
