Drew Barrymore has thrown her weight behind Barack Obama's presidential campaign, after the senator's passionate speech about gay rights made her cry.
The actress insists Obama has inspired her to break the habit of a lifetime and wade into the fierce debate surrounding his battle with the Republican candidate, Senator John McCain.
Barrymore tells the November issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine, "When I heard him speak about a gay person never having to sit outside the hospital room with their loved one sick inside, I burst into tears because so many people I care about are homosexual and it was profound to have someone be sensitive to that. That's the kind of world I want to live in, where we're not holding our own principles in judgment above someone or against someone."
And she admits, "It's the first time I've really admitted I'm a Democrat."

Drew Barrymore has admitted that she’s played for the home team a few times. So this makes sense.
I knew Drew was a Hollywood idiot. When “ET” was re-released, she insisted that the FBI agent investigators hold walkie-talkies instead of guns in one scene in which they are chasing Elliott and ET and the boys. Because she was in that movie as a little girl, she had a certain clout to get the scene changed. It wasn’t politically correct so guns out, walkie-talkies in.

Does everyone here realize that the term “homosexual” has fallen into disfavor with the “Gay Lesbian Bi” whatever community? They think of it as being a strictly clinical term describing sexual behavior. They would rather be “gay” and happy and carefree and all that.
Anyway, I wonder how many “homosexual” people Drew knows, because none of them would be using that term nowadays. It would be like a black/African-American person calling themselves a Negro.

my guess is that she knows them but doesn’t really care about them, hence the term homosexual. but, looking at her hair, you may be right, she may not know that many.

That reminds me of the first time I realized I was a conservative. It was my junior year of college. I realized that the life I had been living was a lie. I had grown up in a Yellow Dog, FDR loving, and Republican hating Democrat household. Naturally when I went to college, I became involved in the College Dems. I majored in economics, which had a great deal to do with my coming out. But what really did it for me was the matter of racial preference in admissions. How was someone who happened to be white any less deserving of admittance to a public university than someone “of color”? Did it not register that simply being white guaranteed very little in our society? I knew fellow students in high school who happened to be non-white and received all kinds of advantages in college admissions and scholarships due to nothing more than the color of their skin. After such individuals graduated from college they had all kinds of opportunities, the kind a boring old white guy from the middle class didn’t see. The unfairness of it all is what led me to recognize the inequity and stupidity of liberalism. I’ve been much happier ever since.
She’s that bi-sexual. And brain dead from all the alchohol & drug abuse in her childhood. The one thing that makes me smile about her is knowing after flooding the entertainment industry with forgetable after forgetable movies, she went and personally financed a large chunk of mega-flop Charlies Angels 2 which lost something like over 100 million dollars. Considered one of the biggest financial disasters in movie history.
I heard it really clobbered her empire, put her massively in debt, and she’s back to begging for roles, instead of producing movies.
