The scene between Drew Barrymore and Dylan Mulvaney was like something out of an Arthurian legend where Guinevere clasped at the hem of her knight’s tunic, or a film that hearkens back to Hollywood’s earliest era where the gentle housewife fell in line with the 1950s iron-fisted husband:Women are now getting on their hands and knees to show solidarity with a man who has lived as a woman for less than a year. Truly the sneakiest trick the patriarchy ever pulled. pic.twitter.com/a9bA1V3oew — Greg Price (@greg_price11) March 14, 2023A woman on her knees, pleading with a man as he sits...

I like Drew Barrymore and have enjoyed her movies a lot from time to time. I don’t know a ton about her, but I do know she had a rough time growing up and being part of a storied Hollywood family, she had drug and alcohol addiction problems, was exploited, even attempted suicide, and just in general had a hard time finding her way in life. Fortunately, she overcame all that and became a successful actress, producer, and talk show host. She’s also the mother of two young daughters. Unfortunately, however, Drew did a bad thing on her talk...

Actress Drew Barrymore is being accused of cultural insensitivity toward “black creators” for posting a video of herself enjoying the rain, which at least one critic says is an appropriation of the “black men frolicking” trend. Many social media users were confused by the criticism posted by TikTok user amushroomblackly, who chastised Barrymore for the video clip by saying she was a “colonizer” who made it possible for millions of her followers to “dismiss and disrespect the boundaries that black creators have set.” The TikTok user was upset because she saw Barrymore’s video as an extension of a TikTok trend...

The E.T. actress warned readers in a recent post on her personal blog that the Earth, like an unhappy wife, may one day decide to give up on its inhabitants who have failed to attend to her needs. But “if you take care of her, she will love you back,” she wrote. Drew Barrymore is one of Hollywood’s most visible eco-activists, stumping for animal rights and advocating against animal-tested cosmetics. She has also launched the home goods line, Flower Home, and the beauty line, Flower Beauty, which market themselves as being both affordable and environmentally friendly. In her blog post,...

It’s been more than four years since Drew Barrymore gave birth to her youngest child, Frankie, but rude-AF body-shamers still think she looks pregnant. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 43-year-old actress recalled a recent interaction in which a woman came up to her and told her that she looks pregnant, despite Barrymore giving birth years ago. The “Santa Clarita Diet” star told the story in a roundtable with other comedy actresses, such as Allison Brie, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Debra Messing. When “Divorce” actress Molly Shannon recalled an audition in which someone asked if she had gained...

During the late Tuesday/early Wednesday edition of CBS’s The Late Show, actress Drew Barrymore professed her love for the work of liberal comedian and host Stephen Colbert, praising his work now and previously on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report as having taught her so much and made “the world a more smarter, educated place.” Barrymore had just come out on stage at the 12:03 a.m. Eastern mark when Colbert told her how pleased he was pleased to see her since “I have not seen you since I interviewed you in character on the old show, and back then, I couldn't...

On Oprah's Wednesday 'voting party' show featuring very important celebrities like P. Diddy (Vote or Die!), Drew Barrymore, Christina Aguilera, svelte suffragette Cameron Diaz took to shock tactics to get the female vote out. After a discussion on lynching and the vote, Diaz spoke of the dire consequences for women if they sit out this election: Ms. DIAZ: We have a voice now, and we're not using it, and women have so much to lose. I mean, we could lose the right to our bodies. We could lo--if you think that rape should be legal, then don't vote. But if...

It seems like Drew Barrymore can do it all: act, direct, produce, run businesses and be a mom — but she confesses that is far from the truth. “I can’t and I don’t,” Barrymore said at Lucky‘s Fashion and Beauty Blog Conference Thursday in Los Angeles.“I was raised in that generation of women can have it all, and I don’t think you can. I think some things fall off the table. The good news is, what does stay on the table becomes much more in focus and much more important.”

Later, during one of the panel discussions at the conference, the Big Miracle star, 38, said she walked away from some of her goals because she didn't want to be absent for any of the big moments in Olive's childhood. "You know that you're going to miss out on your child’s upbringing or you realize that your relationship is going to suffer if you work night and day and weekends," she explained. (Barrymore married art consultant Will Kopelman in June 2012 in Montecito, Calif.) "Unfortunately, I was raised in this like generation of like, 'Women can have it all,' and...

Do you enjoy watching TCM’s “The Essentials”? Are you often perplexed by some of the observations which come out of Drew’s mouth? Do you like tacos? Well, then you’re going to love this edition of Drinking Games: “Drew-ssentials” Edition. As always: “Drinking” doesn’t mean you have to use alcohol. Seriously. Water, lemonade, Diet Coke, fruit juice are perfectly acceptable substitutes. Sweet tea, however, is grounds for dismissal. You have been warned. Take a Drink every time: 1-Drew mentions watching that week’s movie ‘as a child’; 2-You think that perhaps the movie was not 100% appropriate for a child, and thus,...

Drew Barrymore has thrown her weight behind Barack Obama's presidential campaign, after the senator's passionate speech about gay rights made her cry. The actress insists Obama has inspired her to break the habit of a lifetime and wade into the fierce debate surrounding his battle with the Republican candidate, Senator John McCain. Barrymore tells the November issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine, "When I heard him speak about a gay person never having to sit outside the hospital room with their loved one sick inside, I burst into tears because so many people I care about are homosexual and it was...

A Capitol Police officer has been suspended in connection with the series of restroom fires that broke out in Senate office buildings over the past three months. Several law enforcement sources who wished to remain anonymous confirmed on Monday that Officer Karen Emory recently has been suspended in connection with the fires, although details about her involvement, including whether she is a suspect in the case, are not known. Capitol Police spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider refused to comment on the suspension, other than to say that no charges have been filed. “We don’t discuss personnel issues,” she said. “When there...

Younger voters think the country is heading in the wrong direction and that President Bush does not share their priorities, but they like Bush personally and are unsure about John Kerry. Overall, Kerry has a substantial lead among voters under thirty, a reversal of the Bush's nine-point advantage among all registered voters. In a head-to-head contest, Kerry is leading Bush by 10 points (51-41), and in a contest that includes Ralph Nader, Kerry is ahead by 6 (46-40-4). These results came from a new poll of 18-29-year-olds (conducted September 8-13) by CBS News on behalf of MTV and the Center...

Can't we all just get along? Not these days. Not if you're a Republican facing a Democrat in the Senate, where one lawmaker says the people's business isn't getting done because "gotcha" politics "has poisoned the atmosphere." In fact, should the trend continue, "the Constitution is not going to work as it was intended to work," warns Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.). "The sharpness of this poisoned atmosphere of excessive partisanship and excessive ideological rigidity has made it very difficult for this government to function," he says. Under the Constitution, the separation of powers is a check and a balance against...
