Yesterday during a meeting of the House Committee Oversight and Government Reform, Review of Lehman Brothers Finances, Panel 1, Congressman Christopher Shays blasted Congress for their role in the Financial meltdown and blasted Waxman and the Democrats for not investigating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the role they played in starting the Crisis. He then lists all the Republican attempts to reform FM/FM that were blocked by Democrats.

Shays was on CSPIN last week and he laid out all the details about the dems refusing to accept any oversight of Fannie and Freddie.

Rather surprising coming from Shays but all the more important because he is usually leaning left.

IIRC, when Rush Limbaugh had a KILLER hour on the Freddie/Fannie
mess on Monday last week.

Rush played a lot of audio clips, mostly of the perps (Bwaney Fwank, etc).
But there was some audio of Shays asking "inconvenient questions".
I was suprised because it sounded like he was ticked and tenacious...
almost like he'd mainlined some testosterone!!!

This is good timing but I wonder how many Americans ever watch CSPAN. The dates and attempts by Republicans to control this needs to given in specific examples by McCain as well as how partisan the vote was. Alluding to it isn’t helpful as people are to lazy to research for the specifics.

Chris Shays needs our support. We need to beat on Waxman for this.

Shays is a smart guy who has been trying to do the right thing for a long time. We can be part of his efforts by keeping the outrage directed at the Rats.
