Iceland teeters on the brink of bankruptcy...October 7, 2008

LOL.
It’s funny how it’d be a “gold rush” created by taxpayers’ money.
This volcanic island near the Arctic Circle is on the brink of becoming the first “national bankruptcy” of the global financial meltdown.

I read his policy on his website. Many of the “new jobs” will be goobermint jobs. Also, how can there be a “gold rush” when Obambi plans to tax the living you-know-what outta businesses.
Zero will promise anything, and he’s too stupid to know
we know just how stupid he is.
Economists, investors, the Fed and the US Treasury and all BUBBLELOVERS have been grasping for a credit derivative bubble to replace the bursting one...THIS IS IT!! GO DOGGIES!!
...followed by a bust.
He’ll just make everyone equal to the point where you can’t afford anything..... Then whala! Independence!
Fine but first let’s see just one other business venture Obama or Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has done that generated a private sector profit...just one.
Yes, Robert, Iceland, a wonderful example for us all. These Global Warming/Climate Change nuts absolutely refuse to give up the scam, regardless of the science.
Ethanol was a boondoggle at taxpayers expense and helped inflate prices. Solar and Wind are just simply not far enough along to run American industry and transportation and may not ever be. Let’s cover Robbies house with solar panels and put 10,000 windmills out in his backyard, which of course will wear out before they produce enough energy to account for their initial cost. You’ve talked the talk now walk that talk, Rob.
So in four years we will all run our cars on what? Fairy dust?
I hate to think how much we would have to inflate our tires to make up for all the oil we import.
If there was gold in green energy, the utilities would already have developed it by now.
Green is nothing but BS. It has it's niche, but in it's present form it can't develop the vast amount of energy necessary for a modern economy. Even the green socialists admit this and say we need to conserve to fill the green-conventional "gap."
I admit that a scientific breakthrough could change this, but the government can't force or wish invention. Inventors make invention, sometimes by sheer determination, sometimes by dumb luck. When the magic green invention comes along that makes it more powerful and economical than oil, coal, and nuclear power, I will embrace it. Until then, there is no gold there.
Poor Bobby should do a commercial on why you shouldn’t soak your brain in a bathtub of cocaine.
0bama wants to spend $15 billion a year on green energy to make us independent of foreign oil in ten years. $14 billion of which will go to lawyers fighting the sighting of such projects for environmental reasons. The end results will be no new energy sources for 30 years, gas rationed at $20 a gallon and a bunch of rich lawyers.
Just so you know what I scream at the TV everytime they bring up ‘alternative energy’ duing debates, interviews, etc:
When the government talks about supporting alternative energy they mean giving taxpayer money to energy companies to pay for inefficient, non profitable boondoggles like the Pickins wind farms. McCain should have bragged everytime Obama accused him of voting against alternative energy.
If alternative energy was really a good alternative they wouldn’t need taxpayer money to prop them up.
Note 1: “While Pickens touts a plan in the name of environmentalism that will also line his company’s pockets, a #dontgo investigation has revealed that another environmental champion and backer of Proposition 10 has also invested in CLNE: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California.
According to the investigation, Pelosi purchased $50,000-$100,000 in CLNE stock on May 25, 2007, apparently on its initial public offering.”

Note 2: Since the highest energy demands tend to be when the wind is at its lowest, and vice virsa, wind farms do not provide much in terms of efficiency. There are also many physics problems that have not been overcome (Betz’ Law). You still have to have just as many traditional energy sources to make up for the shortage when wind power poops out.

IIRC, the last great “green gold rush” was in Holland in the 1600’s, involving tulip bulbs.
Iceland is geologically anomalous and unlike almost any other country on earth. It sits on a huge “hot spot” on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where enormous amounts of hot molten rock rise from the depths, creating numerous volcanoes and geysers, any one of which has many times the energy output of even one of William Ayers’ famous bombs, or Algore’s mammoth domestic household usage, or one of Ted Kennedy’s alcoholic belches. Zerobama’s theories that trivial sources like “wind and solar” are the answer are absolutely assinine. Too bad McCain lacks the brains to make that point.
Yup. Iceland is broke. We have FOUR times the Saudis reserves in shale oil, coal diesel and ND oil at $30 a barrel. PElosi, Reid and Obama just want to make the Saudis richer.
Guess the ‘green’ in Iceland disappeared so fast they will need some of Russia’s petro dollars to stave off bankruptcy. Bot only that Mr. Kennedy, Iceland is a country of 350,000 people with vast geo thermal resources. We are a country with over 300 million and lots of land to traverse. Will the enviro-nazis ever learn?? My guess is no.
