Who wants to start a nation-wide media protest? (vanity)
Oct. 10, 2008 | JPII Be Not Afraid

Who wants to start a nation-wide protest of all tv and newspapers next week or the week after?

We would demand that the media tells the truth about Obama, the economy, the war and everything else they lie about.

We could make signs and hand out flyers. Telling everyone how the media is literally destroying this country with there lies and deception.

We could set up a website to promote our cause and sign up for protests at different media outlets. If this went national, the media couldn't ignore it.

What do you say? Do you think it could be done quickly?

Help and advice welcomed and appreciated. Who wants to partner with me?

LET"S TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’d rather get 10 million taxpayers to refuse to file until we start getting some representation for our taxation.

News flash...they all run the same advertisements...even Fox.

That should tell you something....like we are all schmucks and suckers for their little "game" of you take this side and we'll take the other.

Come to think of it, perhaps marching on Washington or some big media outlet with pitchforks and torches might be a very effective protest. Or maybe the offices of ACORN.

I was just joking before, but now that I think about it, that might send the fear of God into these people.

Today pitchforks and torches. Tomorrow ... sporting equipment.

You’ve got the right enemy. Logistics is what it’s about. I’ve been suggesting protesting the media for years but could never get any interest. Until people face the fact the media is the front line troops we’ll never end this mess.

And it can be done, but there isn’t much will. Contacting the sponsors is something that on liners can do because most of them won’t do much else. Some of us once got over 5000 people to show up in a remote town with population of 25 and all the national media was there. We took shovels.

It can be done.

I am with ya....!

I think much could be done by putting pressure on the local outlets, including radio.

I hate when I am listening to Rush or another host and at the top of the hour they use ABC as their source for news coverage...lol

Truthfully though, I think a concerted effort made on the local markets could force them to contradict or to they themselves put pressure on the national entities.

Refusing to file will not accomplish anything. They already have your money.

Now refusing to withhold....

That is a horse of a different color.

Fred ran for one reason. To help McCain. It worked.
Fred had no energy in his protected primary. His primary was half the time of everyone else. He’d melt down in a week of what Palin has taken for 6 weeks.

What is that saying, something along the lines of “all it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing.” This is an idea whose time has come, in my opinion.

If this proposal of yours were to gain enough momentum, we would be making a statement the media could not ignore.

“I think much could be done by putting pressure on the local outlets, including radio.”

I think you’re right there. Then local people who depend on these farces for information would actually notice. They’d report it on local news. Eventually, with the right organization, it will get to the top....maybe not in this election cycle, but the problem has been going on with the media for over a decade and it’s only going to get worse until it’s exposed.

Take it to the local ABC,CBS,NBC, PBS, Fox affiliates. Then everyone could participate without driving thousands of miles.

Waste of time.

The “media” cares nothing about us “little people”.

We FReepers saw this during ReCount 2000. We marched right outside the Media building doors and heard not even a peep from them.

Organize.

Someone step up now, please.

There are some here who have enough savvy to do this.

Now is your moment.

We don’t usally have the will, but now we do.

We need to make the most of the focus that we have at this time.

The locals are what I was thinking. If we could get people all across the nation to protest there local tv, newspapers and radio stations we could really get noticed.

I’m starting to think let’s mobilize for 2012 - at least Sarah can run then for President - she’s got way bigger balls than McCain’s shriveled raisins. Doing a media strike is a reach for me - plus I’m not giving up reading my Wall Street Journal and other papers for info on the markets and sports. Sorry.

"Then everyone could participate without driving thousands of miles." That's the key... everyone... Or at least a whopping percentage of the Freepers. How many of us are there, anyway?

"Organize."

Organizing is OK. Boycotting is better (and we don't need to organize to do that). In my house, ALL network news is now OFF. I will not watch, nor will I buy products who advertise there.

I have 3 affiliates within about 100 miles of driving. I can do that a couple times a week....well, in winter the pass closes sometimes.

Massive Email notification should be all that’s needed.

Include ALL newspapers - just don’t buy any.

Include all news magazines - just don’t buy any.

Include the “news hour” with every broadcast network ABC/CBS/NBC, morning, nite and Sunday gabfest.

We will still hear about their continued bias, from here and other sites, without giving them any listening time from us.

Just, pass the word on, in massive national chain Email fashion.

How will you know if it works.

They themselves will tell you.
