Gallup Finds Race is Meaningless in This Election... Unless You're Non-White

As Gallup polling organization says, race is a natural question to ponder with this election since Obama is the first black man to gain the nomination of a major party. But, instead of finding race to be a major factor among whites, the polling from Gallup has found that considerations about race is basically a wash making the issue practically meaningless as a factor in possible vote outcomes with white voters. So much for the Left's claims that whites won't vote for Obama because he's black.

Gallup found that only six and seven percent of white voters polled even found race a factor at all, with six percent saying they'd be less likely to vote for Obama based on race and seven percent actually saying they are more likely to vote for Obama because of his race. That pretty much cancels each other out, I'd say.

But of note are the non-whites that say they will vote for Obama because of his race. About double the amount of non-whites (15%) said they are more likely to vote for Obama because he's black as well as less likely to vote for McCain based on his race (13%)...

Looks like even the polls are making the "it's racism" claim a lie.

I’ve had Obama supporters say to me that they’re not “voting for the white guy”.

I have not had a single conservative say to me that they’re not “voting for the black guy”.

Doesn’t matter in the end - the racism charge is going to be hammered with every Obama set back.

I guess you get results like this when you poll 12% more dems than Repubs.

So are BLACKS the true RACISTS?

Gee, who would have figured that. BLACKS being RACISTS and judging by SKIN COLOR and NOT the “content of one’s character” like MLK begged for.

I’m tired of the Black Man keepin’ me down! We want reparations for the trillions of dollars they took from us since The Great Society started. We didn’t have a choice in coming to America, we was throwed outta Europe. All White people should vote for John McCain as a show of unity against The Man!

Their strategy is to shame voters into voting for Obama, just as his friend Ayers shamed his date into sleeping with his black roomate. Nobody wants to be part of a Klan mentality.

The Obama-Ayers strategy is to keep beating up whites over this alledged racism and terrorist branding so that they will vote for Obama to clear their conscience.

If they really wanted a colorblind election, they would stop making race their single argument and a lynch-mob mentality their overriding issue, especially when it's not true.

An American's vote is their most precious possession. Please, don't be tricked into throwing it away. Look at the candidate for who he is (not his color) and for what he believes before you pull that lever for all the wrong reasons.

And on the other hand, Ican show you a few Democrats and even a couple of good old Union pipefitters that hate only one thing more than Republicans. And that's the color of Bambis hide.

THEY are the ones staying home this year.

The potential history of a woman as vice-president is also being ignored. It was “landmark” when Geraldine Ferarro was on the ticket but I don’t recall Hollywood calling her a “crazy b*tch” who should be gang raped by Sandra Bernhard’s black “boys”.

The obvious disrespect the media has shown her is in itself a sexist bigotry and a double standard.

I recall when Mayor Lee P. Brown (Houston’s first black mayor) was running for re-election against Cuban born Republican Orlando Sanchez. The local press had made a big deal about Clinton administration figure Brown’s initial run “which would make history” in Houston but the press down played the groundbreaking nature of Mr. Sanchez’s run which would have given Houston it’s first Hispanic mayor. Then again, Democrats had put up anti-Sanchez posters which proclaimed that he was anti-Hispanic. You see, he wasn’t from Mexico so he wasn’t down with the struggle.

Xenophobia, racism. From Democrats.

I ignore their claims, they lie and engage in the tactics they claim to denounce when the shoe is on the other foot. I have NOT seen racist claims against Obama. He may not be a muslim anymore (which a religion, not a race - except to muslims) but it is deceitful to proclaim that he never was educated as a muslim as a child when he discusses it in his own book. If he was raised as a Christian (”he was always a Christian”) then who baptised him and raised him Christian? His atheist mother? His non-practicing muslim fathers? He had a history before he was dumped off at his Grandparents. And it isn’t racist to point this out.

Common sense should tell anyone rational that “race” doesn’t matter. You can’t prop up Obama will just 10-12% of the population that is BLACK. WHITES obviously had to vote for him.

There’s no way in hell, I’d vote for a BLACK MARXIST or a WHITE MARXIST and I surely won’t be GUILTED into it.

I believe there are a significant percentage of whites voting for bho out of guilt or what I call the Michael Jordon factor. Yes, I believe there are many whites who are so ill informed that they think bho is some type of MJ of politics. The blacks are equally as bad as they see race only which is not a good reason at all for casting a vote.

I voted for Alan Keyes in the Texas primary (when John McCain and Mike Huckabee were considered the last 2 candidates in contention). I didn’t vote for Mr. Keyes because of his skin color, I voted for him because he was more conservative than the two candidates the media told me to vote for.

I’m hoping that McCain’s low numbers in the Texas GOP were a factor in him choosing a more conservative VP candidate.

But I do not need to vote for Barack Obama (I refuse to refer to him by the “Pepsi” branded name of “OBAMA”, that was what that whole poster scampaign was about, the branding of a candidate, like the Campbell’s soup cans of Warhol or PEPSI-Co’s corporate logos), anyway I do not need to vote for Barack Obama to clear my conscious or “prove” that I am not against black people.

Bring me the reasoned logic of Walter Williams any day.

Like I said above, this is the type of poll results you get when you question 12% more dems than Repubs, do the math.

You don’t owe any reparations. Let’s get that straight right now.

Even if you DID know someone who had been a slave owner in your lifetime, you couldn’t have been older than 8 years old at the time they did so and that is the barometer for “letting such things remain buried in the past”.

This is a historic election. We will either have the first female vice president or the first metrosexual president.

“90 percent of blacks voting for Obama — that is racism.

88% of blacks voted for John Kerry in 2004 and 87% of blacks voted for Bill Clinton. Its the Democrat label not the skin color that makes the difference to blacks.
