"Every Woman for Obama" features Heart (the old rock duo)
NME ^

Posted on 10/11/2008 11:22:05 AM PDT by Hillary's Folly

Heart and Patti LaBelle are slated to perform at a voter registration rally in support of US presidential candidate Barack Obama on Sunday (October 12) in Los Angeles.

The event, dubbed 'Every Woman For Obama', is set to take place at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. It also features appearances by actress Christina Applegate and comedian Chelsea Handler, among others.

Heart singers Ann and Nancy Wilson are urging women to register to vote before California's October 20 registration deadline, and support Democrat Obama.

Last month, Heart sent a cease-and-desist letter to the US Republican Party after controversial vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin used their song during her appearance at the Republican National Convention, as previously reported.

wonder if Babs will make a special appearance?

It's "Every Woman," not "Every Wookiee."

I find it interesting that Obama can’t get big crowds unless he has entertainment at the event. People come for the free entertainment. They did the same thing in Germany.

Another gaggle of old-timers making one final grab at relevancy.

Ann & Nancy ought to be more concerned about the last classic rock station going to a spanish language format.

The event, dubbed 'Every Woman For Obama'

Obama pays the women on his Senate staff less than McCain or Hillary pay the women on their Senate staffs.

Is this an event to celebrate less pay for women? Or just a gathering of ignorant fools?

Any coincidence that Heart was notoriously known to donate to the Charles Manson defense fund?

You think about it, ...It really isn’t much of a leap to go from financially backing a mass murderer to fundraising for a Marxist frontman.

The Republican Party pays a fee to ASCAP use the song at certain venues (rallies). Sorry Heart, the law is on our side!

Used to love them...those were the days...didn’t they get their start in Canada because of Ann’s draft dodging boyfriend? Seems like that was the case, but have been wrong before...and we are suprised they support Obama over McCain?

Not too surprising that ‘Heart’ supports Obama — after all, one of his favorite themes re: subprime mortgages to unqualified recipients has been- “How can I get you a loan?”

Dangit!!!

Heart rocks!

I knew they were in the bag for Obama when they wouldn’t let Saracuda use “Barracuda” on the trail.

But I have to say, and this is to their credit, when I went to their concert in August they did not talk politics at all. They did not use a captive audience that paid for tickets to preach politics to anyone. That’s more than I can say for other lunatics like Madonna.

Yes, and they are better than ever!

They did a remake of The Who’s “Rain on me” and it was unbelievable. Still talented.

Morons apparently, but talented morons.
