Look ma, another VANITY: The Man Says He Knows Nothing About the Economy
Vanity | 10 Oct.2008 | Texas Songwriter

Posted on 10/11/2008 2:14:39 PM PDT by Texas Songwriter

The Man Says He Knows Nothing About the Economy - Then, "I'm Going Back to Washington to Fix the Economy." This is when the the election turned against McCain. What was he thinking. Like a balloon at a childs party, he began letting the air evacuate and he went in every direction. Then, offered another chance to adhere to his mantra of "no earmarks", he votes for a $700 billion earmark to the bankers, then a second vote for the same $700 billion along with $150 billion for things like sheep research, #200 million for Rum research, and wooden arrows. If the man had said loudly, "HELL NO!" he would be winning this fiasco. But it seems he desires to sh*t in his own punch bowl. Then he continues to upbraid fervent, dedicated conservatives...first Cunningham, the woman who was worried about Obama (he is part Arab according to one of his fake birth cirtificates), then he demand we respect a man who is a marxist, who runs with the likes of convicted slum lords, a man who is intoduced to the world by Ayers and Dorynin...free as a bird, guilty as hell, a man who admits to bombing the Capitol, the pentagon, and police stations,..and we are required to "respect" Obama. What kind of nonsense is this?

Hey hippie! Kiss mine where the sun don’t shine. Stand in my face and tell that to me. All of these are political mistakes as first year congressman would not make. I will will vote McCAin because there is no one else to vote for who resembles Centrist-Conservative America. Someone who is not afraid to be called a ‘drama queen’ by the likes of an old hippie needs to let McCAin know it ain’t working. Why don’t you come to Lufkin, Texas and tell me I am a Drama Queen to my face hippie?

Ah that explains it, some troll was making things up again.   No wonder I couldn't find any thing on YouTube with McCain saying "I don't know anything about economics because I'm a total idiot."

Yes, I’d prefer McCain, who admits his lack of knowledge, to Øbama, who has the right answer for everything.

Saddleback, where McCain beat Øbama is where this game changed on the conservative message McCain could articulate eloquently, while Øbama said “Ahhhh...

On this issue, the difference between McCain and Obama is that McCain ADMITS he knows nothing about the economy, while Obama pretends that he knows a lot about the economy but in actuality, knows even less than McCain.

In the political sphere this narrative you are constructing is pretty meaningless.

It would be an interesting exercise to try and construct statements by each candidate that are verifiable in the future and are significant.

Can anyone list a single one for any of the candidates?

I cheered when he said he was going to Washington.

Then I discovered he had no intention of naming names, and my thought was ‘what a dofuss, he’s determined to lose, no matter how hard it is to do’.

That is a Texas invite. Some on these threads seem to require a ‘noncritical’ analysis of things that should be criticized so corrections in course can be made. I assure you, at 240 pounds, I not a drama queen. When a man declares sweetness and light during a political sh*t-storm, like that feckless hippie, let’s all just pretend McCain has made all the right moves, it is the moving functional definition of “insanity”. Let’s just keep doing the same thing...we’re winning! I suspect the old hippie is from the Obama camp.

EWWWWWW....now THAT response WAs drama at its finest!

Guess when the flak starts coming, I must have been over the traget.

Let me make it simpler...I’m originally from Cleveland and yes that is as tough as “Lufkin, Texas.” I love Texas, but you don’t have the corner on the market on “tough”.

Also, you obviously have never heard of David Horowitz, another “recovered” ex hippie and arch conservative?

I am so sure you could do sooo much better than McCain with the 10% of Swing voters he needs now. ....It ain’t working for you...but then ITS NOT ABOUT YOU ANYMORE!

Its 3 weeks to go and we need that 10%. so go on and on and on and on ad nauseum about all the MISTAKES Mccain has made. Meanwhile let the adults go campaign for McCain.

His campaign bus lost a wheel when he suspended his campaign. I was mortified that day. He has been down ever since. He should have voted against the deal. After all, it would have passed anyway.

I have very little optimism that the next debate will help. His last two performances were no help and did nothing to make Obama worried.

I will vote for him, but I am doing it because Obama is a nightmare. Any hope I have is in what other people can do to shed the light on Obama. I have my doubts, but there isn’t any choice if you can’t handle the thought of this messiah.

Otherwise, time to prepare for self protection. May need it anyway.

what exactly is the point of these endless tear downs of McCain on freeper. Why don’t they just go to the Daily Kos and join in?

We have 3 weeks left to get the few swing voters ...what a f...g waste of time to endlessly list ALL the things McCain doesn’t do the way certain people want them to do.

Its not about the conservatives anymore....its about middle of the road, maybe not even conservatives NOW>.

My intention is to hope, cajole, encourage the McCain team to go back to Reagan Conservative Principles. Upbraiding people in his audience only alienates those who are trying to look through the flaws and vote for McCain. When he gets in a pissing contest with Cunningham who only introduced him, in a political season, and tries to to creat a sista Solja moment that worked for Clinton, does not work. He has tried it at least 4 time I know of and it alienates his base. Mr.McCAin needs to unleash Mrs.Palin to just lay it all out on the line in truth and conservative principles.

And hell no, I am an enemy to Barrack Hussein Obama. He will destroy this country in ways we cannot yet imagine. But telling Mr.McCain he is winning the day does MR.McCain no service.

We all know Mr.Obama, by being a democrat, is the enemy. Mr. McCain has one last chance to bypass the MSM and present a clear cognent case to the Amercan voting public...next Wednesday. He will not be successful in this if he does not expose the purulent corruption which is Obama. He cannot 'detail' the connections to Ayers, Odinga, ACORN, and all of the rest by trying to sound 'nice'. He needs to make it sound as despicable as it really is. The gloves have to come off an without fear of reprisal from a wordsmith like Obama. Mr. McCAin must do what the MSM will not do. They are covering for Obama....so....McCain, though he may not like it at a personal level, he must tell the American people what is at stake.

The RATS have twisted McCain’s words. He never said that he doesn’t know anything about the economy. The quote was

“I don’t know as much about the economy as I should.”

A modest Nobel Laureate in economics will say the same thing.

We’re in a race for our lives. Very few of us were gung ho McCain when we had other viable choices. But he’s what we’ve got - and cutting the legs out from under him now might not be a great idea. We can give him our superior wisdom once he’s in office and Obama is a distant memory.

that is an excellant response.

I just have a thought that NO MATTER WHO the Repub candidate was...he would be set up and ruined by the media, the “debates” and the Obama fraud machine.

Obama has cleverly “closed the door” and reframed all attacks on his character and associates so he is covered in Teflon and anyone who attacks him is
a) avoiding the real economic issues
b) being racists
c) being demeaning and unfair
d) brining up small and irrelevant points
e) setting themselves up to look bad ... not look “tough” ..., just looking petty.

I have done nothing to cut the legs out from under Mr.McCain. I tell him the truth. He is what we have. Telling him that he is doing great...just keep doing what you are doing, Mr.McCain...gee, that seems not only to dissemble, but does not help the cause. A death of political correctness is still dying. I understand your position and Recovering Hippie, and, though I should not have said something so harsh to Recovering Hippie, I flarred-up out of the same concerns both of you have regarding MR.McCains. I just feel he needs to deal with the way things are and not pretend that attacking his own voters for such small statements as they made while the vileness of Obama goes unquestioned,....yes, even saying he is an honorable man. There is nothing honorable with Obamas consorts which I see...Ayers, Odinga, the slum Lord, the democrats, and the MSM,.....my God, those are bad people. Mr.Obama underwrites ACORN with $800,000.00 and now 13 states have begun investigation for voter fraud....that is not honorable.

We share the same feelings and I too am extremely frustrated.

I am hoping that what McCain does is politically expedient to get to people that are NOT educated ( who don’t “understand “ who an Odinga or a Rezko is)and those 10% who in the last days here will be more unsettled with the extra negative ads and Palin’s comments, yet somehow view McCain as “reasonable and likable”.

This is a tough one when we don’t have the media...when the media continue to push all the lies 24/7....

One good feeling i have is that the Obama campaign must be getting hit with this or they never would have sent Lewis out with those comments especially when Lewis has been a friend with McCain ...that shows desperation.

Makes sense.  Start with some vague story about McCain admitting something, and we end up with "The Man Says He Knows Nothing".  Dem/troll logic.
