Obama's fundraising under scrutiny
Newsday ^ | 10/12/08 | DAN MORAIN AND DOUG SMITH

Barack Obama's money machine is fueled by the likes of Martha Murphy, a grandmother who has donated 104 times for a total of $2,475.34.

Murphy has used her credit card to donate in amounts as small as $10. "It is amazing how it adds up," she said.

Obama has revolutionized campaign fundraising, deploying the Internet to tap into more donors than any candidate in history. The campaign has reported $160 million in contributions from supporters who donated $200 or less, more than a third of the $458 million raised. But as Obama sets records, his fundraising has come under scrutiny.

The Democratic candidate's donors also include "Derty Poiiuy," an individual with a scatological sense of humor who has given $950. "Mong Kong" has contributed $1,065 and lists an address in a nonexistent city. "Fornari USA" gave $800 and listed the address of an apparel store of that name near San Francisco.

doesn’t matter as the rules do not apply to the Messiah!

Now move along and stop reporting this or I will investigate your right to publish a paper after January 21, 2009.

Signed,

Barack Hussein Obama

Obama's contributions have also exposed a loophole in the law, which does not require disclosure of the identities of donors who give $200 or less, making it impossible to determine whether they are legitimate without a federal audit.

This should read "Obama's campaign has taken advantage of a loophole in the law..."

With the use of fictitious names, multiply that factor, since there's no way to for outside analysts to cross-check against credit card numbers or Paypal accounts.

And the FEC spokesman thinks it's humorous.

We're not laughing.

$2,475.34.

Someone mentioned that a lot of ‘odd sums’ are a sign of possible foreign cash funnelling. If you calculate foreign currency as compared with the US dollar [and the values shift constantly], it might come out in even amounts.

They start the article with the kind of person who has a subscription to Readers Digest that will expire in the year 2050, because every time the maggazine sends a notice about renewing, the person sends another check so the subscription won't end suddenly.

Obviously, there must not be any evil intent to deliberately get around the rules; just absent-minded grannies.

As I’ve stated many times over this creep has more skeltons in his closet than Davey Jones’ locker. It’s like that old adage: If a tree falls down in the forest and no one is there to hear it, did it make a sound? The MSM would do Goebbels proud on their complete and utter silence.

Now we know what the October surprise is!

It's the MSM employees performing the responsibilities of reporters, more or less.

Hey! it's a first step. Who knows where this will lead . . . .
