Almost a year after two teenage girls were found dead allegedly executed by their father in the back seat of a taxicab in Texas, the FBI is saying for the first time that the case may have been an "honor killing."
Sarah Said, 17, and her sister Amina, 18, were killed on New Year's Day, but for nine months authorities deflected questions about whether their father the prime suspect and the subject of a nationwide manhunt may have targeted them because of a perceived slight upon his honor.

I understand your feelings, but truly these “honor killings” have been happening for YEARS here in the U.S. This is simply the first time they have called them what they are. So, following is my response (not directed to you specifically):
FINALLY - The FBI is calling these murders what they are!!! How many young women have been killed in these “honor killings” that they have failed to properly identify?
It’s SO about time that the FBI has termed these what they are. NOW, finally people may start to realize that not all Muslims in this country are so-called moderates. Now, perhaps we can start addressing some of these issues.
I would love for CAIR and other Islamic organizations here in America to come out and denounce these “honor killings” as barbaric, but I won’t hold my breath - I know better than that.
I do understand where you are coming from, however, I have to disagree with you. It IS a good thing that the FBI is calling this an “honor killing”. People need to understand that this is a Muslim cultural thing. People need to realize that these premeditated murders are accepted and encouraged in radical Islam. And, they need to know that it is happening right here in the U.S. and not just overseas.
Now, at least we can start addressing these things in public, and show people that not all Muslims in America are so-called “Moderates”. AND, if Muslims here in America do NOT come out and now condemn these actions, it will prove even more what we are trying to warn people about.
If we were to continue to classify these things as “just murder” then people would not understand the issues that surround this. That’s why I have to respectfully disagree with you. It’s not as if they are saying there IS honor in these killings, but that is the term that is used within the Muslim communities that accept these things. And, we need to correctly identify it so we can start to address the problem.
Why waste money on those expensive chemicals? How about an IV of bleach instead?
