Despite the huge media hubub that it's caused, the U.S. Secret Service is formally denying an allegation from a Pennsylvania newspaper that an attendee at a Republican rally shouted out "kill him" in reference to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
"We have yet to find someone to back up the story," agent Bill Slavoski told the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader. "We had people all over and we have yet to find anyone who said they heard it."
The alleged remark was first reported by David Singleton, a writer for the Scranton Times-Tribune newspaper. Singleton remains the sole person claiming he heard the offensive words:

AP tried this in 04 when AP reporter claimed to have heard cheers at Bush rally when it was announced Toon had been admitted to hospital with heart trouble.
A nice reminder that the secret service are in plain clothes at every rally.
Not much work to do at a Biden rally because no one attends, but when it comes to McC/Palin it’s a big job.
No doubt not much attendance at an O rally but there is undoubtedly danger there and the SS has a serious job to do.
He’s at a McCain rally so even it someone really did shout it out, why wouldn’t you think it was an Obama supporter directed toward McCain?
reporter could be having auditory hallucinations, but the #1 answer is..... he’s lying.
“Could have been a Obama plant at that McCain rally to stir up trouble.”
NO!! No democrat would do that! Really, I wouldn’t put anything past the Obama bunch. Since no one else heard it, I wouldn’t be surprised if the reporter made it up! That paper is a liberal rag. Ours has also become a very liberal rag who is owned by that paper!
If it ever happened that would be my first thought. The Left make pigs look as if they play clean.
Maybe they should check out YouTube? The clips are all over it.
That morning's paper reported that there were multiple instances of "kill him" at other campaign events.
Totally untrue. The paper continues to insinuate incendiary remarks are common at McCain/Palin events.
It fits their narrative and curiously only a Scranton Times reporter heard the remark.
I was at the rally. It was loaded with Secret Service and uniformed security. And they were only the obvious ones. There were others blending in with the crowd. It just isn't credible that no one else heard the "kill him" remark.
Could be that plant was named David Singleton, a writer for the Scranton Times-Tribune newspaper...
The Media is so pathetic! They have Their Truth and we MUST believe what they tell us.
The agents in attendance did recall that some people yelled “Tell Him” but nobody ever did the other. All the agents in attendance said the same thing when questioned about it afterwards, the reporter is hypersensitive and heard what he wanted to hear so he could make a big story out of it to get his shot at a national anchor spot.
At the very least, to create another maccaca moment.
Well, as all the videos shown by the media show.....oh, wait. Never mind. Just take our word for it, right? Dan? Is that you?
If there was such an incident, it would be plastered all over your TV. The lack of such is pretty conclusive evidence it didn’t happen.
Does it really matter? If I state that the Cubs were killed or murdered in a game, it doesn’t mean a crime actually took place.
Just one of a series of lies that was spouted by the false messiah last night.
“’We have yet to find someone to back up the story,’ agent Bill Slavoski told the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader. ‘We had people all over and we have yet to find anyone who said they heard it.’”
I’m sure the mainstream media is going to jump all over this and set the record straight...
Or not.
