Its time to spend it.
“Is someone getting ‘debt’ and ‘deficit’ mixed up?”
I don’t think so. I know the difference, if I know anything.
What I was getting at is that if obligations eminating from the current crisis extend into federal budgets in the McCain administration (as they almost certainly will), tax cuts won’t be off the table, because our government does not much care if its revenue does not meet its obligations.
I agree. That ought to resonate with the independents/undecideds.
Oh, now I get the point. The word “debt” was actually used in the post to which I responded. I didn’t take that to refer to the famous “National Debt.” I figured it was a generic use of the word “debt.”
I am not wrong in assuming that Congress will appropriate more money to bail out banks and pay off mortgages in future years, am I? We have taken it upon ourselves to be indebted to failures in the housing market, just as we are indebted to our children’s future, as someone might say.
Repeat after me:
LOWER TAXES INCREASES REVENUE TO THE GOVT.
LOWER TAXES INCREASES REVENUE TO THE GOVT.
LOWER TAXES INCREASES REVENUE TO THE GOVT.
Look it up, it is a fact.
The ad is OK. Not great but it’s a start. If he has money for a major ad blitz now is certainly the time.
Dude, we have 10 trillion national debt, just increased another trillion by this bailout. Not to mention the trillions in unfunded entitlements.
I agree with you that lowering taxes increases revenue to the gov’t but if you do that, govt has no motivation to cut spending. I’m not advocate raising taxes but I just don’t see how lowering taxes in an age of exponentially rising govt spending makes any sense.
Most of the last 8 years the economy was humming and there was low unemployment and almost no inflation.
This is 1 reason I have a hard time liking John McCain. He's too quick to join the MSM and dems if he thinks it suits his purpose.
I'll vote for him, I want to like him, but it ain't easy.
McCain should produce several ad’s showing well thought out answers to the questions from last night...
Make it look like the debate format and drive him his points.
Play them over and over again and drive home the difference between Senator Government and McCain...
Then you don’t understand Reaganomics.
This ad is fine, but I’m waiting for the ads where it’s PALIN speaking directly to the American people.....
You don’t understand that if we don’t get spending under control, no amount of revenue is going to help.
LOLOLOLOLOL
You sound like a very brilliant person.
On that we can agree, but that’s no excuse to dump it onto us with higher taxes or keeping them high. That “enabling a drunk or a drug addict excuse” type of argument won’t work on me. It’s not my fault and I’m not taking it.
That’s John McCain. Bob Dole II. He has many shortcomings and flaws from a communication standpoint. The public’s collective will to choose substance over form will be severely tested next month.
Well....thank you! You do too! LOLOLOL!!!
God bless you dear one!
McCain/ Palin 2008!!!
