Senators John McCain and Barack Obama spoke at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. The annual charity event was the last scheduled appearance of the presidential candidates on the same stage before the November election and offered an opportunity for each candidate to make humorous remarks about themselves, the other candidate, and the election campaign.

McCain is hiliarious and "That One" was not so funny and received meager applause.
Off topic, did anyone think due to McCain winning the debate was the REAL reason the stock market went up over 400 points yesterday.
I know, I know, today is a new day in the market!!!

McCain’s remarks were flat out hilarious. He totally stole the show. Why couldn’t he have turned some of that on during the debates?
Reminds me of Bob Dole’s campaign in 1996 when he actually started loosening up a few weeks before the election, but unfortunately by then, it was all over for him.
Here it is ...
“That One” has never been accused of having a sense of humor.
Obama’s rather dull.
...
Obama was cracking joke that Bloomberg had to take the subway because the economy was so bad, McCain yucking it up with what I perceive to be an enemy of the American way.
It seemed to me a great illustration of the elites in Washington, just completely out of touch living in their own reality and not that of America. To them it was all a good 'ol boy political game with no real concern for the future of our Country.
I honestly found it to be rather sickening and revolting.
But then again, maybe I just give a damn too much
“But then again, maybe I just give a damn too much.”
Well, as we raised our daughters I used to tell them if at times it seems like the whole world is screwed up, maybe its you.
In this case, having watched a few of these over the years, McCain’s barbs were sharper than I believe I’ve ever seen at one of these. Pointed while still being humorous for the crowd. Even after the obligatory intro type stuff almost at the end he went back to hammering Obama as he introduced him.
No, you’re not alone.
I don’t think I can add anything to what you wrote.
In McCain’s case you’re both wrong if you subscribe to him having “no real concern for the future of our Country.”
His bonafides are established in that regard.
So you're saying it's me?
Well, you and kidd. After this 45 minute program, which is to benefit charity, we all return to fighting the good fight to prevent the bad guys from taking over the country. I think its making a mountain out of a molehill.
I'll give my vote to McCain to try and keep the marxist out, but you will never convince me in a hundred years that your statement is true. And that goes for 99% of our current politicians
Whatever, I don’t agree. As I stated in so many word, IMHO cavorting with the enemy is wrong and that’s the way I see it.
Gonna be a bloodbath today, Rapunzel.
IMO, these swings in the market are the result of Day Traders, but this being Friday and all...
IMO, this was the best communications moment we've seen from McCain the entire campaign, almost on par with Sarah's convention speech. I am forwarding the video link to everyone I know and telling them to pass it on. Even my Dem friends are going to enjoy this - particularly the Hillary supporters- and in my gut I know it will sway at least one or two of them. They will be lured in to watch NObama, but they'll be disarmed by MigMac's humor and the message will seep in.
