When Obama wants large crowds he has entertainment. The crowds come out for that because it’s free. He then thinks they love him. Take away the entertainment and they won’t come.
I drove through St Louis a few years ago, and was shocked at what a slum it was.
“Answer with a Sarah Palin rally in the same place. Would draw 200,000.”
Very risky. If she doesn’t match him we’ll look like fools and losers. You’d have to have McCain, too.

I had to change planes at their airport a few years back: yecchh. The terminal was a pig-stye, the people were worse. Like you said, major slum.

That’s a large crowd and it wouldn’t surprise me that Obama can bring that many (imagine if he were to hold a rally in Chicago). But we have to remember Obama broke his pledge on campaign finance and is outspending McCain 4 to 1 and is set to spend a record amount.
But, McCain and the RNC still haven’t unleashed their barrage yet. If after that 4 to 1 burn rate Obama is still within 5 points I think McCain can alter the Obama’s message.
East St Louis is just across the river...like 2mins away....it’s in St Clair County, Il a lib haven....I was down in that area last weekend...nothing but Obama signs...the farther north I drove in ILI saw more Mac signs....

So Obama’s friends are giving him a big tunout by hook or by crook. He will reward them handsomely!

I'm worried about that as well - I can easily see Rodney-King styled rioting in 25 or more major urban areas.
Heck, even if he wins, they will probably set all sorts of bonfires in celebration - and those can get pretty ugly, pretty fast.
He better get to it. He is quickly running out of time.

No surprise Obama can draw a big crowd in our larger cities. That’s where his most concentrated support is. He can continue to draw such crowds if he wants to spend his final days campaigning in the inner cities.
