Bears are cool despite the fact they leave calling cards everywhere. i have a snow shovel that i use to clean up the mess.so, your answer to "do bears ___ in the woods?" is "No...in my back yard?" :)

(There are two sides to every issue. One is right, the other is wrong; but the middle is always evil.)

We were originally from Pa, had blk bear all around our place there. Alot of the blk bear here in Ak have never seen people, you people keep shooting the bear in Pa, makes them respect people rather than eat them.
I;ve had neighbors run out on their porch to shoot grizz eating their dogs on chains, tearing up their fish racks, and into their freezers in outside sheds. Once you have a problem bear, you have to shoot him, he'll be back for more. I'd leave what's left of that sheep right where it's at and watch for bear at daybreak & dark; you'll get him.

Great, glad you have a weapon, glad you know how to use it, hope CO is as pretty as I remember it...
It is your choice to hunt or not hunt after all.
Perhaps the rest of us can have that choice as well.
My choice nowadays is to ‘hunt’ paper - at very long ranges. Now, that’s fun.
