Question to all: How many folks have you encouraged to go and vote on Nov. 4th? Me? — 23 so far and they are scared of a socialist getting into OUR White House.

I’d love to know if I’m not alone (for the most part) in this VOTE McCain/Palin on NOV 4th CALL. Fact is we the McCain/Palin FOLKS DO have the numbers (silent majority) ONLY IF we cast our votes on Nov 4th — and can’t afford to stay home or be lazy and skip out. We can not let these bottom-feeders (DemRATS) have control of our freedom. Barack Hussein Obama is an empty-suit socialist who will destroy America as we know it.

They’re already submitting.

Those of us who have no intention of doing so should be using this time to plan for the inevitable.

For all of Colin Powell’s achievements, he still hasn’t crossed that barrier - that he sees himself as a black man first, and as an American only (perhaps a distant) second.

I'm disappointed in Powell, and I admit that FR was right about predicting he would side with Obama over McCain, and I was wrong. And frankly, I think this is a D.C. insider game. C. Powell goes one way, M. Powell goes the other, and all the bases are covered.

But let me say this: I can see why he did it even if I disagree. Freepers, remember or think about Powell's age. This is the last of the generation that experienced Real Segregation and racism. People like Powell (and my parents) grew up and became adults in world that limited them no matter how smart you were, how hard you tried, how many biased and unfair tests you passed; you were never going to be allowed beyond a certain status in life simply because of skin color and racial features. That was painful for them and it was very real. Not something in a history book, but real.

In their minds, they see the possibility of actually seeing a Black man (I know, Obama ain't Black) become a POTUS within their own lifetime. And that is such a powerful pull, they can't override it with logic. Think about it. Powell was born in 1937. He's 71 years old. When he was a young man and joined the military, it was a known fact that no black man would be allowed above the rank of captain. In his life, he saw that barrier fall, he saw rights of Black people to cast votes finally enforced, the right to eat next to a white person allowed, the end of anti-miscegenation laws, the end of school segregation at all levels, etc. Think would it would be like to actually have seen such changes when you were absolutely sure they would never happen in your lifetime. And now there is a chance for one final, top of the heap, change: POTUS. It's too strong a pull for him to resist. His son, like those in my generation, have only experienced a small bit of racism. We still see potential that is untapped, and can think a little more clearly.

Rush summed up WHY Colon Powell did this based on race and why Michael is campaigning for Mac.
Colon split with Bush over affirmative action.
Mac asked Clinton to name Michael to FCC so that he could have better relations with the Powells. This is how Colon pays us back.

I wouldn’t know. I live in a very blue state (MD) and everyone I know and their friends, plus all the signs I see in the streets, are Obama-Biden. It’s very depressing.

Barack Obama was not curious enough to pay attention to the political rantings of his preacher of 20 years nor the terrorist who launched Obama's campaign in his living room. That is an awesome post.

[ I will be voting for McCain-Palin and against the Marxist Democrats]

Glad to hear that weegee. A no-vote for McCain is a vote for Obama and I fear him greatly.

Lol, hope you didn't vote for Perot at one time!

My graphic was made to PROVE the point of WHY Powell endorsed Obama. He made that statement to a group of students.

How interesting that the son remains a patriot while the father sold out for another chance to be in D.C. power circles.

His father, like my father, is a black man who grew up in a time when they couldn't even dream that a black an would ever be President. I grew up knowing that one day that a black man will in fact be President. Therefore, unlike Powell the senior, I don't feel any obligation to make it a realization by voting against my political beliefs.

I just saw a clip of Powell Sr. saying that he didn’t see the relevance of bringing up William Ayers.

What a shockingly stupid thing to say.

Silver- I can sympathize, but rest assure, the MCain/Palin supporters ARE lurking silently out there, you’d be surprised. I live in Northern CA (a very blue state), and still the McCain supporters are bigger than one would imagine. CA is infested with lib germs, but many are waking up to the reality of what mess they have caused on our society - finally. In fact, No lib teacher here will ever tell me how to raise my child or how they wll think. Never gunna happen.

or be prosecuted after the Inauguration for the War Crimes the Dems want to go after the Bush Administration on.

If they do this, it will destroy the country.

I do believe that the possibility is behind the purchase of a large ranch in Paraguay by President Bush.

THE LESS-THAN-GREAT, SELF-STYLED HUMANITARIAN-GENTLE INTELLECTUAL GENERAL

The Real Powell Record and Doctrine

As a major, Powell was given an “unsat” fitness report by his commanding general, Gen. John Hudachek, who refused to recommend Powell for promotion, rating him as one of his worst majors and officers. This would normally have been a career-ending report, but the military’s Affirmative Action-style program saved Powell’s career. This same policy is believed to have resulted in Powell being promoted again and again.

1989: As the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Powell failed to prevent Panamian dictator Manuel Noriega from establishing and building his narcotics-smuggling operation, which led to the murder, shootings and beatings of US forces by Panamanian para-military thugs loyal to Noriega.

Result: High-ranking officers within the Panamanian Defense Forces who opposed Noriega offered to capture and deliver Noriega to the US, but Powell refused. As the situation escalated, Powell eventually had to recommend that we go to war with Panama, which resulted in 23 US troops killed.

1991: Against recommendations, CJCS General Powell refused to recommend the total destruction of Saddam’s Republican Guard during the Gulf War.

Result: Saddam held onto power with the protection of the Republican Guard, who then orchestrated the genocide of so many Shiite Arabs in Iraq, including the “marsh” Arabs.

1991-1993: As Saddam began violating the surrender document on Powell’s watch, Powell refused to recommend decisive action.

Result: The horrific genocide Saddam ordered against many Shiites in Iraq continued unabated.

1991-1993: The stage was being set for genocide in the Balkans on Powell’s watch as CJCS, who refused to take any steps that could have prevented the disaster.

Result: The Balkans War of the 1990s that killed staggering numbers via genocide and other war crimes. The US and NATO eventually had to invade. US forces are still there, as are many war criminals who remain on the loose.

2003: Powell, as Secretary of State and an alleged expert at intelligence, falsely claimed before the UN that Saddam had rebuilt his WMD program, to include a nuclear weapons program with yellowcake from Niger.

Result: Powell recommended the invasion of Iraq at a cost of 4,000+ US lives.

2004: White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card, according to Card, informed Powell that the president desired his resignation. Powell left office the following January.

15 September 2008: Powell stated at George Washington University that he considered race a factor when selecting a president and that an African-American president would be “electrifying.”

19 October 2008: Powell endorses Barack Obama for president.

20 October 2008: Despite all of the above, Obama states Powell could be given one of the highest advisor positions in his administration.

Ha!

Excellent, potlatch!

I’m glad to see that Michael Powell has the strength of character to break from his father.

Proof that Michael Powell has integrity and can see beyond race.

I hope he runs for office one day so I can support him.

Unveiled: Democrats’ Racist Past
Frances Rice is a lawyer, retired Army Lieutenant Colonel and Chairman of the National Black Republican Association.

By Frances Rice

Democrats who say they don’t care about civil rights history do so because they want to hide the Democratic Party’s racist past. Hypocritically, these same Democrats are quick to falsely accuse Republicans of being racist, while pontificating about why black Americans vote overwhelmingly for the Democratic Party—a party whose failed socialist policies have turned black communities into economic and social wastelands.

He's a great pillock.

Of course, former atty gen Ramsey Clark (or historically, Henry Wallace) still makes Colin Powell look more Pubbie, but that's not high praise anyway. :')
