Hate-filled attacks on Obama have many roots (Careful when reading)
Star-Telegram (DFW) ^ | 10-21-08 | DAVID LIGHTMAN

WASHINGTON — An ugly line has been crossed in this presidential campaign, one in which some people don’t mind calling Barack Obama a dangerous Muslim, a terrorist and worse.

"To me, this all feels much worse than we’ve seen in some time," said Kathryn Kolbert, the president of People for the American Way, which monitors political speech.

Experts agree on the reasons: Obama, the Democratic nominee, is different from any other major presidential candidate in history in many ways, and people often don’t accept such change gracefully.

That different background fuels many fears, said Penni Pier, an expert on political rhetoric. People are still scared that terrorists are ready to strike and wonder about Obama’s background, she said, while the Internet and other outlets are endless sources of misinformation.

Some think that GOP strategists are, as Kolbert put it, "orchestrating" the vitriol.

I post this as further proof of the left wing hate and bias of the press in this country. Now I see why McClatchy Newspapers don't post their reporters email address. I sent a email to the editor of the paper this appeared in but don't except a reply. I wanted to know when there would be a article about hate being displayed toward Bush, McCain and especially Palen.

how do these people have the NERVE to talk about “hate speech” given the way they have savaged Palin and “Joe the plumber”. If there is some “hatin’” going on it was them who threw it in the stew.

Of course there is no such thing as a hate-filled attack on a Republican.

Goes without saying here, I know...

The same line crossed when the Left called Bush a Nazi and more?
The media "should" hide.

As I was reading the headline on this piece and its first paragraph I thought to myself, "this smells exactly like it was written by the Southern Poverty Law Center."

Obama is a Muslim-terror sympathizer.... and that should be the term that is used... not simply a Muslim.

It is much more effective because voters, in their hearts, know it is true.

...some people don’t mind calling Barack Obama a dangerous Muslim...

And that is just from other Muslims!

2004 Interview: Obama Talks about Jesus, Heaven and Sin (CBN June 3, 2008)

GG: Who’s Jesus to you?

OBAMA: Right. Jesus is a historical figure for me, and he’s also a bridge between God and man, in the Christian faith, and one that I think is powerful precisely because he serves as that means of us reaching something higher. And he’s also a wonderful teacher. I think it’s important for all of us, of whatever faith, to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history.

snip

Obama: "There’s the belief, certainly in some quarters, that people haven’t embraced Jesus Christ as their personal savior that they're going to hell."

GG: You don’t believe that?

OBAMA: I find it hard to believe that my God would consign four-fifths of the world to hell. I can’t imagine that my God would allow some little Hindu kid in India who never interacts with the Christian faith to somehow burn for all eternity. That’s just not part of my religious makeup.

snip

GG: What is sin?

OBAMA: Being out of alignment with my values.

And separately (I posted the link to the following quote in a post to that thread):

In his 2006 book The Audacity of Hope Obama wrote, “I was not raised in a religious household... My mother's own experiences... only reinforced this inherited skepticism. Her memories of the Christians who populated her youth were not fond ones... And yet for all her professed secularism, my mother was in many ways the most spiritually awakened person that I've ever known.”[22] Religion for her was “just one of the many ways — and not necessarily the best way — that man attempted to control the unknowable and understand the deeper truths about our lives,” Obama wrote.
(Wikipedia quotes from his autobiography)

and

Indonesia has the world's largest Muslim population, but Obama’s household was not religious. "My mother, whose parents were nonpracticing Baptists and Methodists, was one of the most spiritual souls I ever knew," Obama said in a 2007 speech. "But she had a healthy skepticism of religion as an institution. And as a consequence, so did I."
(Time Magazine)

He may not be a muslim but he doesn't seem to be a Christian to me.

Quoting “People for the American Way” is like asking Goebbels to comment on National Socialism.

They have many roots, but almost all of those roots spring from his marxism and criminality.

Combined with the eight years of what they have spewed against President Bus and VP Cheney.

What is this? Have we now come to the point where it is hate speech to question a potential despot, or a potential anti-Christ? I am not saying that Obama is this person, I am only saying he is potentially “the one” (though not in the way the liberal media means it). That is a dangerous place to be. If and when such a person ever comes on the scene, how will people be able to communicate against such a person? This is a very dangerous place to be. I guess if you try to talk about what the truth is, you are just being negative? Wow, these educated “experts” have really put us between a rock and a hard place, how the heck did THAT HAPPEN?

>GG: What is sin? > >OBAMA: Being out of alignment with my God's values. There, I fixed it. Though one has to question whether this is simply a moral-relativistic reply, an ignorant reply, or a reply based on idolatry (Obama thinking of himself as God).
