'Voters' flocking to Ohio
Columbus Dispatch ^ | October 22, 2008 | Mark Niquette and Jill Riepenhoff

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien is telling the presidential campaigns in Ohio that if their out-of-state staff members are just passing through for the Nov. 4 election with no plans to remain, they shouldn't vote in the state, either.

O'Brien has spoken to attorneys for both campaigns and asked election officials to review the residency status of John McCain's and Barack Obama's staff members, as well as those of other get-out-the-vote groups, who have few Ohio ties but registered and requested absentee ballots.

"One thing that is crystal-clear is the law -- if you are a temporary resident or a visitor, you are not entitled to register to vote and you're not entitled to vote," O'Brien, a Republican, told The Dispatch yesterday.

He recommended that anyone with a questionable registration from those groups destroy their absentee ballots and steer clear of the polls. "There is no debate. Ohio law says it in black and white."

I am beginning to think that early voting in several swing states, along with ACORN's phony registrations was a plan to get many people to vote multiple times as they follow Obama throughout these swing states late in the campaign.

Why do I get the feeling that whatever the outcome is on Nov 4th, it will not be final?

Rest assured that many college students will be voting at least twice, once by absentee ballot in their home town, and again in at least one precinct in their college town.

The same is apparently true for campaign staffers.

There was a thread yesterday with a report that a church in Alabama was busing its congregation to Ohio to vote! I’m pretty sure they weren’t Republicans...............

What’s to stop a person who lives in Michigan from voting here, then flying to Florida for the winter. I know a lot of people last election who did just that...so I heard on the news

"There is no debate. Ohio law says it in black and white."

There you have it -- concrete proof that Ohio is a racist state.

Voter fraud should be treated as treason.

I was visiting my mom yesterday for her 78th birthday. She is really concerned about all the voter fraud she's heard about. In her mind, voter fraud is a HUGE deal because our right to vote is a large part of the foundation of what makes America great! It's hard for her to comprehend that people put selfish desires before what is good for the country.

For years she's questioned things I've seen "on that stupid computer"... thinking it was all craziness. Gov Palin has made it all clear to her as she sees her trusted MSM doing backflips to say bad things about her.

Add to the steaming pile CNN’s Drew Griffin last night slapping Palin in the face with a disgusting misquote taken out of context just to manufacture a quote saying (to her face) that she is stupid.

Correcction: If it’s a Dem win, it’s final. Republican win, it’s not over. They already have armies of lawyers standing by. As far as I know, we don’t even have Osgood and Goldberg.

Here in FL poll workers at my precinct actually make you present your driver’s license. After handing it to them you they compare signatures and have you recite your home address.

Early this year it was requested that voters need to ensure that the addresses were correct on their driver’s license. If it wasn’t you would be given a provisional ballot. This partly explains the influx of new voter registrations.

Not sure if this is happening in every precinct across FL. I often wonder if the precincts in Gainesville, being a college town and BO stronghold, practice the same policies?

Pardon my lack of knowledge in this area but what prevents a student from registering to vote in one state where attending college and then going home on a weekend and voting in their home state?

Same here in Texas. There are a lot of "snowbirds" who come here each election. We have that problem in a lot of the southern US. Same with college students. They vote absentee in their home state elections, and then vote here at the Texas colleges and universities. With the large number of "progressive" students at UT, it is no wonder that Austin / Travis county is a blue cancer in a red state.

There is only one solution to that problem, and I know if there are a lot of people - even here - against it, but that is a national voter ID system. As long as there is not a national database that allows people to vote several times in several states, no election will ever be free of voter fraud.

Ken Blackwell was the only thing standing between ACORN and Dem fraud in 2004 in Ohio.

Can’t people be prosecuted for this lying and voter fraud?

Back in the days when only property owners could vote, things could have been even clearer. If you own properties in more than one state, you get to vote in each state where you have property.
