Here's how McCain can wrest the momentum

I think McCain holds a winning hand in his energy transformation program. But he's got to put a name to it like they did back in the day with the Manhattan Project or JFK's Man On The Moon.

Put this another way, McCain's got the game, but he sore needs a name.

My vote is for the Tesla Project. The man Tesla was a dreamer and a doer, won some, lost some, but his goal was to catapult the world into the future and he still inspires many of the informed young. There is a statue of him in Niagara Falls, N.Y

I sent an e-mail to Mike Duncan, GOP chairman, to pass it on, and if anyone else sees any value in advocating putting a handle on what is a breathtaking energy vision, maybe you'd add your voice.

Foreign Policy: President Obama’s Past Will Haunt American Security?

American people, is it really worth choosing Obama as the first African American candidate?

Imagine, Bin Laden & Achmedinajad if ever questioned by President Obama about their terrorist activities, or developing nuclear weapons program? The two most hated man by most Americans will smile, twist their lips, laugh slyly as they will know they have Obama where they really want him. In a defensive position on international scene.

Yes. But for heavens sake. How could any issue be trumping communists taking over the country?

A Marshall plan involving energy should do the trick. Everyone needs energy. It’s not a moral or religious issue and can’t really be attacked effectively.

The McCain campaign MUST be watching this scenario about the birth certificate. It MUST be. I’ve been following it for months now.

What McCain needs to do is come out and say that he was given the same briefing as Joe Biden, and he knows exactly what Biden was talking about when he said there was going to be a manufactured international crisis next year, that it is extremely serious, but he cannot disclose what he learned. Then he should say that his experience has taught him exactly how to handle the situation, but 0bama’s would put America in great peril.

That’s a winning hand.

Energy independence would have been a great theme to sieze upon in late summer, and McCain did score some points on the issue (the House Republicans scored a lot of points). The 'Tesla' name is cool.

However, any big new proposals 11 days before the election will smack of desperation, and reinforce the 'eratic' label that McCain suffered from during the financial crisis. McCain needs to stick with the basics: Electing Obama will result in a radical shift to the left. Do we really want to take the chance of electing someone who regards Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright as his friends and mentor?

The race is very close at this stage, and I think there is much hope that the remaining undecideds will break disproportionately towards McCain.
