The Loudoun County Republican Committee announced Oct. 22 on its Web site that Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska, the Republican Vice Presidential nominee, will hold a rally Oct. 27 in Leesburg at JR Festival Lakes. Time of the event is to be determined.
We are excited and honored that Gov. Palin is coming to Loudoun County to lend her support for the great Get Out The Vote effort we have undertaken for our GOP candidates, LCRC Chairman Glen Caroline stated on the LCRC Web site. Loudoun Republicans and many Independents are energized and excited by the McCain/Palin ticket and are going to turn out in huge numbers at this event to show their support.
Virginia is among the battleground states in the national election. Barack Obama, the Democratic Presidential candidate, held a rally Oct. 22 at Leesburgs Ida Lee Park. Sen. John McCain of Arizona and Palin held a campaign rally in Fairfax County recently, while Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Joe Biden visited Sterling recently. McCain also was in eastern Prince William County (Woodbridge) last Saturday.

very cool
i hope to make it out and bring along some of my friends from the peoples republic of maryland
Dammit! When are people gonna include the state in the titles.
I’m thinking of coming from W.MD.
Never been to one of these...how hard is it get close parking spaces?
Hubby has a bad leg and walking too far is really hard on him.
It’s in Virginia. Obama was there yesterday. I heard on the radio and via another thread that Palin will be doing three events - Leesburg, Fredericksburg and in the Roanoke area.
Leesburg, VA.
Freaky little town with a witchcraft shop and a biker bar...and returning buzzards who vomit on the resident’s rooftops every spring.....:))
At the Palin event in Richmond I saw them accommodate an elderly man in a wheelchair. You might consider calling a local GOP office (either in your area or in the event location you’re considering) and ask them about handicapped access.
Damn bikers...
Salem, VA.
Oct 27, Details to be announced.
OMG. OMG. OMG. I’m giddy with excitement. I need a time PRONTO so I can *ahem* schedule a medical appointment.
Okay....thanks!
[if it’s warm enough, we could just take the bikes and ~drive~ up to it]....LOL!
It’s not just the walking, it’s the standing. I went to a rally in September in Lancaster, PA. Got there early (10:30), stood in line until 12:30 when they opened the doors, then stood another 4 hours (they arrived after 3:00 and by the time we shook hands, etc and got out it was after 4). Once you were in there, you really had no place to go. So I would recommend a wheel chair since they let them in first and have a place for them set aside.
I just don’t know what gets into us.
The bar is really cool little dive.
It’s right across from the county jail and you can buy coffee cups that say “Better here than across the street”...:)
Yep, thanks. I think Gopher had the thread on it.
Same here. Hopefully it’s late afternoon/evening. If not then I’m going to have to try to find a way to ‘work from home’ that day.
He’d shoot himself before he’d sit in a wheelchair.
He got a piece of metal in his eye a couple months back and I took him to the ER and they couldn’t *force* him into one even though hospital policy demands it...:))
It just a limp from an old injury.
We have fold-up tall bar stools we could bring if his leg starts to bug him.
I’ve never been in there. I drive by just about every day and see all the Harley’s lined up on the side of the street. I keep imagining that if I ever did go in there it would be like one of those movies where the music comes to a screeching stop and everyone in the place stops what they are doing to stare at me LOL.
Is it Leesburg or Salem??
Leesburg. Near the outlets.
