Mary Mapes is in gloat over-drive. Dan Rather's erstwhile producer, the woman behind Memogate, is beside herself with joy at what she sees as the impending death of the conservative blogosphere.
It's her expectation that Barack Obama will win the presidency that has Mapes so hopeful. Annotated excerpts from her HuffPo column, The Monster is Dying [emphasis added]:
* This whole thing is starting to feel a lot like the climactic death scene at the end of a 1950s monster movie. * Palin actually resembles that old monster movie staple -- the beautiful-but-bookish brunette working as a lab assistant for the older scientist whose irresponsible experiments lead to tragedy.
Gee, with one or two emendations, couldn't that be a description of . . . Mapes herself?

Mary Mapes is so ugly she could make a freight train take a dirt road.
I loved reading those excerpts from Mape’s book where she tells just how distressed she was her 60 Minutes fiction fell flat on it’s face. She went from pure joy over sticking it to Bush to pure terror at being found out. I am so pleased that she told us how she felt so we could gloat.

On the other hand, if Obamination wins, sites like FreeRepublic.com will become all the more important and popular and stronger because, eventually, all Americans will see what a mess they made of electing a communist.

If that video can be found, the election dynamics will change BIGTIME. Meanwhile I was just over at early voting and the line is STILL to long to wait on and, believe me, most of those folks are voting for Obama.
