And my child has had to deal with the little junior fascists and their “union of professional liberal education enablers” for most of her life.
She can both smell and spell “backlash”, and provide you with a reasoned and logical explanation as to why it is happening, and explain why it will be unavoidable.
So can her older cousins, all in their mid to late twenties now.
If you ask her why our rent increased, she can tell you it was due primarily to property tax increases.
She understands any tax increase on “someone else” always directly impact her, one way or another.

Did I mention we never play “class warfare” games in our household?
Parents are responsible for the overall education of their children.
I teach her about the real world, in age appropriate ways.
No, she is not openly rude to her teachers, but she is not cowed by them, either. She has learned to keep quiet, lest she be physically harmed by a group of privileged minorities, for stating truths and facts in public schools.

Which is why the New York Slimes is now on the “junk” list on Wall Street. Their stocks went below $10.

Of course, now is the opportunity for the Democrats to Nationalize their favorite propaganda tool.

Folks, this is WAR. It is just beginning. If the Democrats sweep this Republic and turn it into a Marxism, they will have internal and external hell to pay. Free America will rise up against them. They will need Secret Service brigades to keep us off their backs.

I wish you'd quit crayfishing and tell us why you like General Powell so much -- lol!

I missed the part about why you specifically like him so much!

Kidding aside, yeah, he's been known as a political general and opportunist for years -- like so many of his contemporaries in the Army, like Wesley Powell, the Clintons' lapdog, and other generals who've been in the spotlight, like John Shalikashvili, Eric Shinseki (who took the Powell line before the Iraq invasion), and others who've bucked the President and Don Rumsfeld.

That all said, I don't think Dubya and Rummy got things quite right -- they tried to get away with something on the cheap (and said so, or at least Rummy did), and it bit 'em. Courtesy of the Chinese and Saddam, whom the Chinese counseled on how to run a rope-a-dope guerrilla war. (Note: We owe them, again.)

So it'll take a real board of inquiry (like the nine or ten, d/o who's counting, that dug into Pearl Harbor) to get to the bottom of who was giving which advice to CINCUS and SECDEF, and why, and how valid it was in hindsight. Who was giving the straight poop? That's a big part of how you evaluate generalship -- professionalism.

I guess they think we are all scum too...

Check out the reply to Tony Blankley's dissection of the "new Me-Too'ers" (Brooks, Noonan, et al.) on Townhall.com. Someone wrote in a long reply to support the vanguardists and elite Beltway conservasnobs. Interesting rant. And yeah, we're scum .... standing around like cattle, waiting to be told what to think and what the theory-supported agenda are.

Uyup. Moo.

.....yesteryear when people like Nelson Rockefeller and Henry Cabot Lodge were the face of Republicanism--Eastern elitists. Sarah Palin's not that type so he has contempt for her.

Exactly. Shades of old Bill Scranton, and Dick Nixon and Nelson Rockefeller's smoke-filled-room "Compact of Fifth Avenue" in 1960 that screwed Goldwater and the Main Street Republicans and conservatives and gave Nixon the nomination.

Like the Nixon-mediated backroom deal in 1952 that screwed Bob Taft and the Main Street wing by imposing Dwight Eisenhower (at least he won the election).

This is turning into 1964 all over again -- conservatives vs. yacht-club snobs. Only this time the snobs are stiffing the party not because they dislike the nominee (as in '64), but because they figured last year the Dims are going to win no matter what, and bring in some kind of Eurosocialist Reich; so they saved their money and are probably socking it away on Grand Cayman as fast as they can. Look for all the big yachts to set sail Christmas week, in anticipation of retroactive tax-bill screw jobs by Pelosi and the Obaminated Congress.

My question is,what kind of rocket scientist do you have to be to be our VP?

Al Gore?

Bwahahahahahahahaha! Sorry, I tried to type that with a straight face.

Sarah Palin will do just fine.

Obama could find himself in the same situation as FDR in his first six years or LBJ after the 1964 election, in a position to ram through a lot of new programs. It took the country a long time to recover from the mistakes made by FDR and LBJ, if it ever did.

Obama is much more of an unknown quantity than they were--no record of leadership, no executive experience, and there's a disconnect between the nice-guy image cultivated in the campaign and the anti-American, anti-capitalist, anti-white ideology suggested by his associates (Wright, Ayers, etc.) and his (auto?)biography. Which Obama will the country get?

When Bill Scranton made his last-minute "stop Goldwater" race in 1964, National Review had this joke:

"What do you think of Scranton?"

"I don't know--I've never been there."

What is a Republican in Name Only? Someone who you don’t agree with? Something isn’t right with this Palin picture. She is overly ambitious to the point where she is willing to neglect her baby, she uses her looks to get ahead and to flirt with the crowd. She only repeats what she is told to say, she has no insight, she is greedy. She only says what she is told to say. She is motivated more by ambition. I say this knowing that I will still vote for McCain, because I can’t have a communist and who knows what else running the country. I still choose to think for myself. I will continue to hope for something better. I really hope that this Palin fever isn’t rooted in racism, i.e., we will vote for anyone but a black man, including an ambitious beauty queen who knows how to memorize her lines and flirts with the crowd. She might be able to get ahead, some people are driven purly by ambition, please don’t mistake that for inspiration. And a lot of evangelical Christians can memorize their Bibles too, but that doesn’t make them real Christians either. What I said might make you really angry, but the thing about me is, if I turn out to be wrong, I will admit it to you. If McCain does get elected and it turns out that McCain and Palin saved this country from Obama, then I will admit that I was wrong. But until that day comes, I will have to be honest and say what I feel in my heart. And for that, you will say that I am a RINO. How unfortunate, how sad. What about freedom of expression? Does that mean anything to you? Do you really care about freedom of thought? Or is talking about those values really just a way to control your opposition? Think about it.

Greedy???? Like she picked herself to be McCain’s running mate???
She answered the call and has agreed to serve her country.
Her baby is with her every day.

I hope the Obama administration gives you everything you want as well as everything he promises to you during his campaign.

I take great offense at your "beauty queen" and "neglecting her baby" remarks. However, the Communist dicatator and Fidel Castro wannabe, Hugo Chavez feels the same way you do.

Thanks for noticing!

Christopher Hitchens is a particularly wretched example of humanity. The guy is an atheist socialist and NEVER supported anything except the war, which he hoped would blossom into full fledged genocide on Muslims. It sounds harsh to say that, but it’s true.

Christopher Hitchens is the cancer, not Sarah Palin. The hatred of Sarah Palin still baffles me. I don’t want to just latch on to a simplistic answer, so I’m going to ponder it for a while.

There’s nothing to ponder with Christopher Hitchens. He’s a ghoulish individual.
