The presidential campaign about nothing?
I wish. That campaign is about royally screwing this country. I have, in lighter moments, amused myself with the notion that the candidate would simply be content to be president and would stick to a Clintonian path (post '94) in which he mostly stayed in the general vicinity of the middle in order to position himself for the next presidential race. Then I realize that it took a GOP controlled Congress to force Clinton to the center and that the candidate's history is all about advancing hard left politics, no matter the venue. I guess the upside is that after a year or two of the Marxist who happens to be African-America, the country will overwhelmingly reject his party and himself. But that's enough time for permanent damage to be done. There is the possibility that he and his fellow comrades in the Congress would so damage his party's brand would be damaged for a generation.

You’re assuming that Comrades Obama, Pelosi and Reid do not outlaw the Republican party and all members thereof before 2010.

With President Obama, we will have a Marxist with a veto-proof, filibuster-proof Supreme Soviet (currently known as Congress;) three Supreme Court nominees from the ultra-Left, the whole concept of checks and balances will be meaningless (unless you include the Army as a “check”). Somebody should remind these folks to remember Stalin, and that “it” CAN happen here!
