My ancestors didn’t own slaves for two reasons: Religion and Economics. They believed that slavery was a sin and they could not afford slaves anyway.

This could get interesting! Obama is not ‘African-American’ black in the sense that most people think of it (ie, descendents of slaves). His father is Kenyan and so his paternal ancestors were not slaves in this country. And Obama is half white. So not only would he not get any reparations, he’d have to pay into it?

Here, it’s simple, this is the liberal mindset:
White people = bad.
Black people = downtrodden, good.
If you’re white, you should pay. Your forefathers may not have owned slaves, but if you’re white, your people did something bad, sometime, and you should pay.

A few months ago, there was a thread about Michelle Obama visiting the restored plantation where her ancestors were slaves. The place was fully restored. The slave houses were bigger and better than the cabins that my ancestors lived in at that time, in central PA. My mother described the houses that her great grand parents owned as “shacks”.
The CRA that led to the current meltdown WAS reparations.
It really is too bad that Obama and the libs are setting us back 60 years with regards to race relations. Who are the real racists here? This is horrible.
