500 Tons of Uranium Yellowcake Moved From Iraq to Canada
http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/u/uraniumyellowcake.htm ^ | Maj General Jerry Curry

Posted on 10/28/2008 1:31:19 PM PDT by hamburglar

A national defense analyst says President Bush should be commended for keeping quiet about a discovery that could have blown his critics out of the water.

Retired Major General Jerry Curry is a decorated combat veteran who served as an Army aviator, paratrooper, and Ranger during a military career that began during the Korean conflict. He recently wrote on his blog about a very under reported story by the Associated Press.

According to the report, a large stockpile of concentrated natural Uranium, known as "yellowcake," reached a Canadian port to complete a top secret U.S. Operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad, and a ship voyage crossing two oceans. The Uranium material had been housed at a former Iraqi nuclear complex 12 miles from Baghdad.

Curry says the president kept mum about the discovery in order to keep terrorists in the dark. "He made a very brave stand, a resolute stand..., in which he decided that he wasn't going to blab everything to the press," Curry commends. "...And in the meantime while he kept it quiet, he was buying time from the terrorists to get all that stuff out of the country. So that's what was done -- he just very quietly kept his mouth shut."

"The press beat him to death for the last several years," he continues, "and now it turns out that, yes, there were weapons of mass destruction...." Curry also maintains that Saddam Hussein had an active nuclear program and the material could have been made into a nuclear weapon.

President Bush's actions took courage, he notes, and all Americans should be thankful to have such a brave president who puts the welfare of the American people above personal considerations.

And because conservatives were too damned afraid of the media they refused to pursue the reports that the Russians aided Iraq 6 weeks prior to our attack in removing a ton of weapons and WMD into Syria....

think this will get any airtime this week?

And now we get to enjoy the sounds of crickets chirping.

Thank you President Bush for your loyal service to this nation and the great men and women who serve under your command.

It is the most amazing differential of good service to ungrateful attitudes that my mind can imagine. To think we live in this each day is astounding.

Jefferson was right: “ Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just,”

If this article is true, why didn’t the Bush administration try to get the word out? If could have helped Republicans hold on to the House and Senate in 2006 and it would reduce the other side’s arguments of “Bush lied - kids died” to the ghoulish propaganda that we have always known it to be.

Is it possible that George W. Bush is working for the other side? As President Bush himself would say “That doesn’t make any sense.”

Vote for John McCain/Sarah Palin on November 4th!

No s—t! How many dirty bombs does that work out to?

It doesn’t take ten minutes to convert this material into a dirty bomb. You basically put some dynamite with it, and there you are. You have a dirty bomb.

One terrorist carrying this stuff into Israel could cause massive fatalities, and sickness.

What if this was used in car bombs. You could cause a dirty region that would spread out over multiple blocks in a city.

This will be secreted away, nothing here, move along, move along...

The fact that it is being moved to Canada is news.

The fact that it exists should be brought up in public constantly, buy the right to stick it into the eye of the leftist propagandists.

There were potential weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and it’s been a bald faced lie since day one, that ‘Bush lied, men died!”

You’ll have to forgive some of us for wanting this outed over and over.

We could out it daily for ten years, and still not catch up to the MSM who claimed it didn’t exist constantly for years.

Wonder how much it was. It clearly was in Iraq but the issue of keeping it out of the hands of terrorists seems kind of weak. They could do very little with yellow cake since it takes a significant amount of equipment and effort to purify it into anything usable. It certainly would have been valuable to the Iranians.

Assuming the article is accurately reporting facts, there are some things more important than politics, and one of those is national security. Rightly or wrongly, Bush puts nationality security at the top of his priority list, above politics.

That is leadership!

Wow...I completely missed this story back in July. Boggles my mind how Republicans have the most inept communications teams in history. This should’ve been breaking, front page news everywhere...and the McCain team should be promoting it. Had they done so, they wouldn’t have had to foolishly distance themselves from Bush.

Because the administration could not talk about this stuff until it was out of Iraq, the democrats in House and Senate who had inside knowledge of its existence used the silence to destroy the administration on the ‘no weapons of mass destruction’ game the media loved. That there were found and disposed of gallons of bio-chemical weapons had no impact on a media determiend to keep such from the American voters. But if one reads regularly at UK sites, the fatcs have been out there since the first year after Saddam’s being deposed.

Now tell me why President Bush kept this “secret”?

It was never really a secret. Anyone who was curious already knew about it, and the 500 tons of yellowcake were mentioned in another story a couple of months ago.

What national security interests have been served by keeping it “secret”? The Iraquis knew about it. I’m sure the Russians and al Qaeda knew about it. Most Freepers knew about it, or anyone else with an interest.

It seems to me, however, that by keeping it nominally secret, Bush let the left wing press off the hook and gave all those moonbats with bumperstickers leave to keep lying about it forever. In other words, he helped the antiwar movement delude a lot of Americans about what happened in Iraq.

Bush is an honorable man, and I’m sure he thinks he did the right thing. But he is one of the worst communicators in the history of the presidency, and that has had unfortunate consequences, despite all his honorable leadership in the WOT.

If you protect ‘murcans against attack for eight years, and then allow the disloyal opposition to take power, an opposition thoroughly infiltrated by exactly the people you’ve been fighting the last eight years, have you done us any favors?

George Bush could never see the big picture. That the wars in th’Iraq, th’Afghanistan, the mexican border war, and the leftist demorat party were all interconnected. You had to fight them all or none of it was worth spit.

Bush’s keeping “mum” about Iraq and other matters resulted in the deep hatred that his detractors feel for him which, in turn, may result in admitting another terrorist to the WH. What is worse — Al Qaeda or Al Obama?

National security above party affiliation or self gain?

How on Earth does it enhance national security for an American President to purposefully allow himself to become politically hamstrung and downright hated at home and around the world?

It's difficult to chalk up to conspiracy what can easily be explained by incompetence.
