DETROIT (AP) -- A judge has sentenced former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to 120 days in jail, nine months after a newspaper story about text messages ignited a scandal at City Hall. Wayne County Circuit Judge David Groner ordered the sentence Tuesday afternoon and noted Kilpatrick would not be given an opportunity for early release.

I left Motown 33 years ago, a few years after the riots and never looked back. Not long before, it was a viable city.

Viable cities grow; those that are not, shrink. Detroit has about half the population of 40 years ago.

It is a crying shame, and the fault is with Democrat government allied with the UAW and Teamsters.

His next stop is the Wayne County jail, where he will be in his own cell 23 hours a day. He will not be allowed to mix with other inmates during his one hour of recreation.

That is truly hard time. No social interactions at all would be pure boredom. Hope he has lots of good books.

Having lots of good books is only helpful to him if they haven’t been colored yet,

Warren at Chalmers.

That was my grandparents' neighborhood. They lived on Chandler Park Drive and he was a pastor at a church on Kercheval and Lakewood. We lived on the west side, the east side was a different world to me.

I think forced busing played a big part in Detroit's downfall. That, combined with a prolonged teachers' strike caused a lot of people to pack up and leave in my old neighborhood: Grand River and Evergreen.

I usually don’t post from Drudge, because I know I’d never be first. Today, though, I’ve been undercut about three times already, even while avoiding Drudge.

They were all prosperous neighborhoods.

What happened to Detroit, the once arsenal of democracy is a crime. The criminals are big government and big labor.

That’s a slap on the wrist and a stern finger wag.

Yes, butt(heh)the "stern finger wag" was more than likely done looking for contraband during his strip search, just before he entered his new little 8x10 McBoogie'n Mansion.

Obama=Kwame, portrayed as a confident, intelligent, articulate, good family man in the media, but in reality a man with the same arrogance, narcissistic character, rotten associations, lack of accountability of such, etc....and like Kwame, if he wins, and gets into trouble, he and his little minions will be playing the race card like an Eliot Spitzer credit card at a hooker convention.

Another glowing example of a member of The Democrat Crime Syndicate in action. His daddy said he was “railroaded” after the proceedings yesterday.

“Why doesn’t he get 5 years? That’s a slap on the wrist and a stern finger wag.” - wastedyears

I’ll see your 5 and raise you 20 for this subverter-of-society, destroyer-of-lives thug.
