I checked out your page and see that I am the first person you have posted a comment to since registering here today. May I ask who you are going to vote for on election day?

The betrayals by Romney have been followed over years.
They are not rumors. The denials are rumors.

I noticed that too. A newbie who signed up just to sow discord by falsely accusing Romney and then posting about some negative polls too. Not very uplifting for a first-time poster. Hmmmm.

In fact, the gal involved in the rift with Palin is not a Romney person. Nicolle Wallace is a former Bush WH aide and a former CBS employee, and colleague of Katie Couric. Curiously, she seems to have a special place in her heart for Katie.

NRO had a good take on false accusations against Mitt:

The web piece further blamed former Romney aides for being the source of the Sarah-Palin-is-a-diva complaints coming out of the McCain camp, presumably meant to damage her post-election prospects should the Republican ticket lose next week. The problem with that is: Most of Romney’s inner circle is still his inner circle — some having come from the business world, others being Massachusetts people now running his PAC. Others returned to Washington, and are doing McCain surrogate work, but are far from campaign insiders. Whomever is shooting at Palin from the McCain camp is not doing Romney’s bidding.

The good news for Mitt Romney is folks care what he’s doing. And someone out there sees him as enough of a threat to their ambitions to try to wound him. That rarely happens to irrelevant also-rans.

Given that Sarah Palin has come out and voiced her disapproval of her handlers and the "roll-out," I wouldn't be surprised if some of them, including Wallace, are pointing fingers at others to deflect the heat.

>>But they’ve been pulling this kind of stuff since their sleazeball attacks on Fred Thompson during the primaries. Remember the rumors that he would drop out (well ahead of the time he actually did decide to leave the race)?

Your post proves two things. That the liberal lies work and that there are many FReepers willing to jump on the bandwagon of those liberal lies. The lies about Fred dropping out turned out to be a former McCain staffer Mike Murphy. Just as the recent rumors fed from CNN to the American Spectator (who showed poor judgement in passing them along) were not a former Romney staffer but former bush Aide Nicolle Wallace who has also worked for CBS.

But those facts get lost in all the rumor mongering among conservatives. Some FReepers afflicted with RDS are more interested in justifying their hatred of Mitt and his supporters than encouraging a united front. Meanwhile the DEM's are laughing.

Now is the time to unite behind Palin. Romney came in second in the primaries. if it was Fred or Duncan who came in second these rumors would be about them not Romney. It is predictable and is calculated to hurt the base. What is suprising is those who are buying into it. Those who keep bringing up these two false allegations less than a week before Nov. 4 are like the DEM's trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Obama is set to lose Tuesday, he couldn't even get half of his own parties vote. The enemy is at the gate, no need to start eating our own. Some posters need to practice a little impulse control over the next few days.

Thank you for your input. Personally, I do not see any purpose in debating Romney or rumors about Romney at this time. We are facing a critical election right now, and I prefer to fight against the real enemies. Those do not include Romney.
