Frankly, I do not believe said tape even exists.
Here’s why.
I believe LAT was using the “tape” as a bluff - they WERE supporting Hillary and tried to claim to have a tape that would damn Obama. No need to see it, they claimed it existed, and just like I could describe a dream with such realism you’d think you really saw it, they described said tape.
Oops, Hillary lost and Obama won!
Now, the old article claiming a tape exists that would hurt the One was drug up and their bluff has been called. They now do NOT want to hurt Obama, but also don’t want to admit they never had such a tape, they claim they’d be violating an agreement.
It’s a poker game, and folks are starting to call their bluff on it.
Now why would someone, me, for example, give a tape to a new organization then say, here, enjoy, but it can never ever see the light of day. To what end? Why? What’s the reason?
If you are going to insist no one ever see it, and it never be shared, then why in the world would you even give it to them? For safe-keeping? I could lock it away and keep it from view if that was the goal - why would I give it to a paper, then tell them they can’t ever use it????
This makes NO sense and I maintain the tape was a bluff, a poker hand and never existed.
It defies all logic that some would give a “tip” like that, but tie their hands.
Nope, it was a bluff used to help Hillary and now they are stuck.
There is no tape, never was.
Maybe we need to rethink the angle we are approaching this at.
Did Wallsten say he had a physical tape, or did he say he watched a video? Maybe he watched something on youtube, or an embedded video somewhere, like at Electronic Intifada (see below).
I believe the poet who appeared at the Khalidi dinner is a woman named Suheir Hammad; that Wallsten was told about the dinner by Ali Abunimah who has recorded tons of events in Chicago through the years, and has an axe to grind against Obama-and has many videos available on his site, EI.
If Abunimah is the source of the video (not necessarily the owner of the video) it’s no wonder he doesn’t want to be outed.
