Blood Will Run in the Streets'--
It seems that the final days of the presidential campaign have made Erica Jong and her friends more than a little anxious.
A few days ago, Jong, the author and self-described feminist, gave an interview to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera, the choicest bits of which were brought to my attention by the reliably sharp-eyed Christian Rocca, the U.S. correspondent of Il Foglio, who published excerpts on his Camillo blog. Basically, Jong says she her fear that Obama might lose the election has developed into an "obsession. A paralyzing terror. An anxious fever that keeps you awake at night." She also says that her friends Jane Fonda and Naomi Wolf are extremely worried that Obama will be sabotaged by Republican dirty tricks, and that if an Obama loss indeed comes to pass, the result will be a second American Civil War.
Here's a translation of Jong's more spirited quotes to the Milan-based Corriere, as selected by Rocca.
"The record shows that voting machines in America are rigged."

"...if an Obama loss indeed comes to pass, the result will be a second American Civil War."Wait... I thought Obama's crowd was against war and violence. What happened to kumbaya and "give peace a chance"? I guess those ideals only applies when the U.S. is fighting against communism and tyranny.

Writes the hysterical Jong...
"If Obama loses it will spark the second American Civil War. Blood will run in the streets, believe me. And it's not a coincidence that President Bush recalled soldiers from Iraq for Dick Cheney to lead against American citizens in the streets." How is this not a threat of terrorist reprisals?

Did you notice that the picture in the article was taken in 1976? Time does take a toll.

I get really tired of threats from Obama apologists.

For the Left and the urban centers...
An Obama win will potentially lead to an immediate 18-60 hours of preening, looting, and rallies.
An Obama loss will potentially lead to an immediate 18-60 hours of rioting, looting, and demonstrations.
For fly-over country, an Obama loss will immediately lead to a good night's sleep.
An Obama win will lead to 76 days (NOV 5 - JAN 19) of brisk sales at gun shops, and a quiet 8-18 month wait for the first examples of the real need to use them (most particularly, the attempts to remove said new purchases). Maybe hope and prayer will avert that day... maybe it won't.

I'm sure they will riot. They will set fire to their neighborhoods and cars. They always destroy their own property and then ask the government to replace it.But they will stay away from the suburbs because they would run into a wall of lead.
What I worry about is, will the government condemn the rioters or the people that try to protect themselves. Will the shop owners, home owners ,Joe the plumbers be, labeled the criminals and suffer the fate of such.
I really believe that our government has wanted to take guns out of our hands for years and a nation wide civil war would give them the final reason. Our Constitution is only as strong as the people who protect it. Once they take the peoples teeth, what does the governing elitist have to fear.

“oh well - who has all the guns?”
The rich lefties have guns and the punk crims, who will vote for Obama, have illegal guns. It’s just you they don’t want to have guns because you are a good solid citizen and we can’t have you standing up for yourself and exercising your rights now can we? After all were would it all end - we might end up with a Republic rather than a socialist backwater!
Stay safe!

"After having stolen the last two elections, the Republican Mafia
" I have to admit, if I thought that the Democrats had stolen two elections in a row, I would be PO'ed too. But this is not reality. Nobody stole the last two elections. The people voted and the winner won, fair and square. They gotta get over this...
"If Obama loses it will spark the second American Civil War. Blood will run in the streets, believe me. And it's not a coincidence that President Bush recalled soldiers from Iraq for Dick Cheney to lead against American citizens in the streets."
These guys make Truthers look rational and sane! Dick Cheney leading Iraq veterans in the streets? Dick Cheney?!?
"Bush has transformed America into a police state, from torture to the imprisonment of reporters, to the Patriot Act."
There has been so much torture and imprisonment of reporters, that the eeeeeevil Bush regime has managed to supress all reliable stories confirming these things. It is amazing how many journalists have simply disappeared. But the ones who remain are too frightened to mention it in the press...

They have to believe that the elections were stolen. They have no choice. They cannot believe that their candidates were defeated on their ideas and principles, because THAT is an intolerable personal rejection on their part. It is truly a mental deficiency of their character and moral values. It is an irreconcilable conundrum that they cannot solve. People can call it "denial" but it goes way beyond denial. They are incapable of accepting rejection of their ideology............
