Hubby thinks I’m “odd”, to say the least, because I enjoy sitting out on the sidewalk, watching everything that’s happening in the grass between my feet.
There’s a *very* busy little world down there that most people just walk right over and miss.
[I reckon that’s my own form of “macrocosm meditation”]...:)
You know that LA Times tape - the "send off" tape for Obama's friend who went to teach at Columbia? Well, Obama's friend - the guy in the tape - was the same person who invited the President of Iran to speak to the students of Columbia.
When a person can't see the obvious - that Iran is dangerous - it's because they have an incentive NOT to see.
Think about it.
Well you are not odd to me. I think God has made all these things for our pleasure (as well as His) and I am blessed and amazed every day of my life at His wondrous creations. Keep enjoying the grass at your feet, the sky over your head and everything else. You will always be happy if you do, I am sure of it.
Blessings.
Thanks dervish.

You have *got* to get the books “The Secret House” and “The Secret Garden” by David Bodanis.
It’s “our” world as viewed under a microscope and narrated via “a day in the life of” style.
You will *never* look at the world the same way again.
Probably one of my favorite parts was the tragic narrative of the poor, hard-working slime mold colony in the back yard.
You may find yourself weeping for the terrible hardships the little guys go through just to move a millimeter to ‘greener pastures’.
thanks, bfl
Never heard of either of the books and I will make a note of them. However, I’m a little skeptical that I’d weep at the mold’s hardships. I did cry when Charlotte died in “Charlotte’s Web” though (but I was in 2nd grade at the time).
Thanks for the book suggestions.
