I have been a libertarian as far as I can remember... The Libertarian candidate failed to develop... and now I am stuck... I CANNOT vote Obama... But I really feel like I cannot get myself to vote McCain, even if he is "the lesser of two evils."

Vote for the one that will allow you to vote again in 2012.

Look at who’s the one mostly likely to cause the most damage,
the one to push the most socialism down our throats - and vote for the other guy

This is not a “just flip the coin - they are twins” election.

The choice is pretty clear.

Vote for the lesser of two evils or, if it’s too hard, don’t vote at all.

Don't make this harder on yourself than necessary. Primary season is time to vote your heart. General election, you have to vote your head. Consider the possible nominees to the Federal courts. You want the possibility of a strict constructionists or would you prefer to see more of the ilk that brought us the Kelo ruling?

As a Libertarian, I am sure you will agree that the most important thing is the defense of the Constitution of the United States, right?

What does the Constitution say about the role of the President? Let’s take a look. The President is Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces. He appoints judges and cabinet positions and he negotiates treaties with other countries.

We still on the same page?

There is no doubt that McCain isn’t the perfect Conservative, heck, moderate is probably a stretch, but how does he fit into the role the Constitution prescribes. How does Obama- as left as one can get, fit into that same role?

Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces- who would our troops rather have in their foxhole?

Appoint ambassadors- who would most likely choose those who reflect America’s interests?

Appoint judges and cabinet members- who would get the advices and appoint to positions of those who are more likely to work towards goals you agree?

Negotiate treaties- who would more likely think of America first?

We all have doubts about McCain in one or more of those areas, but of course, I know you will agree that we have doubts about Obama in ALL of those areas.

Think about it like a football game. You don’t run for a touchdown on every play, sometimes you simply have to hold yardage, sometimes you make small plays to position yourself for a better move, sometimes you just play defense.

I understand some of you want to support Barr or Baldwin as you may believe they are more Conservative- even though it is mathematically impossible for either to win. You may believe this is the right thing to do to ‘teach Republicans a lesson’, but you are doing it at the wrong time.

Why is it that liberals focus on winning and getting power first, then they force their members to get in line. Conservatives have worked the opposite way. Who is gaining in power and who is losing? Teaching Republicans a lesson in 2006 left us where we are now. Why not take on the Lib’s strategy, win power and then force our representatives to get in line. We are good at the former, but we stink at the latter.

Wouldn’t you agree that if you don’t have the power, all the Conservative philosophy results in nothing more than coffee shop philosophy?

The choice is clear- McCain or Obama.. Apathy isn’t a choice, because the the world doesn’t stop for your apathy.

It is your play, do you play a short term defensive game for a while, positioning yourself for a better play, or do you give up and walk off the field?

I have no idea what will happen in the voting booth, but I can tell you I am distraught

No time for hand-wringing, bed-wetting, or being distraught.

Those are liberal democrat EMOTIONS.

USE YOUR HEAD.

Educate yourself on just what an Obama admin would mean to our country - how much LONG TERM damage they could do in 4, or worse still, 8 years. Then get ANGRY, and ACT on that anger.

GO VOTE McCain/Palin (or mccain/PALIN if it makes it easier for you).

If you cannot see the difference between a McCain presidency and a Barry the Marxist presidency at this late date....don’t vote. I for one do not want people who don’t have a clue voting at all.

It would be in any libertarian’s interest to vote AGAINST Hussein. I don’t care if it means voting for Daffy Duck, should he be running against him.

Hussein is a Libertarian’s WORST nightmare.

McCain loves this country and Obama doesn’t.

McCain fought for this country and Obama didn’t.

McCain wants smaller government and Obama doesn’t.

Obama hangs with scumbags and McCain doesn’t.

Obama has had everything in his life handed to him on a silver platter and complains about how awful this country is. McCain suffered for over five years being tortured in Vietnam because he was fighting for America and loves this country.

If you can’t make your mind up about who to vote for then there is no help for you.

By the way, hoping for a Goldwater to rise out of an Obama presidency is far too much of a risk. Conservatives in Euro-socialist countries have been looking for their ‘Goldwater’ for decades after they taught their moderate Conservatives a lesson letting the socialists take over. They said the same things many here are- teach them a lesson, they’ll want us back.

I hate to tell you, but they may not. Not in Norway, not in Denmark, heck, even in France and the UK, leaders we would consider Socialist here are mainstream there because they changed the discourse.

“Revolution” movements and Conservative values don’t go together in the modern world because Revolutions don’t set up freedom, they change power structures. As soon as you displace a power structure, a vacuum is created and someone who wants power- thus, the antithesis of Conservative values, steps into that vacuum.

It is time, I believe, we take heed of Ayn Rand’s warning about supporting political offshoots that not only don’t have a chance of winning, that by not working within the system, you actually risk setting your own values back.

Letting Obama win, no matter how you cut it, sets back Conservative and Libertarian values, and could, like the aforementioned countries, eliminate them from the political landscape. People already worship the false Messiah that is Obama- imagine all these people with a religious like devotion and willingness to accept liberalism and all that comes with it- having power. Look at what the Obmessiah has done to anyone who dares question him- the plumber or the reporter, imagine that with power. Do you think Conservative or Liberal thought will be allowed to grow?

There are stark contrasts between the candidates. If you could explain a little your ambiguity towards either it would help to understand how high that fence is your riding on.

If you can’t vote for McCain, I strongly suggest you stay home and wait for the perfect candidate to come along some day. We’ll call you when the perfect candidate arrives.

One ticket stands for life and liberty, as in libertarianism.

The other stands for death and bondage, as in socialism.

One ticket candidate wants to protect freedom, hope, and optimism through low taxes and strong defense.

The other wants to raise taxes and turn that defense "inward" into an "equally well-funded civilian force", aka Gestapo.

One ticket wants to promote life and value motherhood.

The other wants to preserve the legality of jamming pairs of scissors into babies' skulls and sucking their brains out.

Why are you having trouble seeing the difference between the two tickets? Seriously.

” I CANNOT vote Obama... But I really feel like I cannot get myself to vote McCain, even if he is “the lesser of two evils.”

Then stay home. Cop out. Put your head in the sand. Pretend that one less vote for McCain won’t help Obama (the candidate you say you “CANNOT” vote for). Let the chips fall where they may. And when you do finally pull your head out of the sand and see that Obama has become President, put your head back in the sand and kiss the United States as we know it, goodbye.

If you love our country, this is not the time to wimp-out. Life is and always will be about choosing the lesser of two evils. There is no perfect candidate but there sure as hell is an enormous difference between the two choice you have.

For the sake of this country, our military men and women, and indeed, the world, I sure hope you and others like you make the right choice.

Hi Decoy James.
I fixed the keyword list so take a gander of those key words.
That should help you decide.
