WITH THE presidential campaign clock ticking down, Sen. John McCain has suddenly discovered a new boogeyman to link to Sen. Barack Obama: a sometimes controversial but widely respected Middle East scholar named Rashid Khalidi. In the past couple of days, Mr. McCain and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, have likened Mr. Khalidi, the director of a Middle East institute at Columbia University, to neo-Nazis; called him "a PLO spokesman"; and suggested that the Los Angeles Times is hiding something sinister by refusing to release a videotape of a 2003 dinner in honor of Mr. Khalidi at which Mr. Obama spoke. Mr. McCain even threw former Weatherman Bill Ayers into the mix, suggesting that the tape might reveal that Mr. Ayers -- a terrorist-turned-professor who also has been an Obama acquaintance -- was at the dinner.
For the record, Mr. Khalidi is an American born in New York who graduated from Yale a couple of years after George W. Bush. For much of his long academic career, he taught at the University of Chicago, where he and his wife became friends with Barack and Michelle Obama. In the early 1990s, he worked as an adviser to the Palestinian delegation at peace talks in Madrid and Washington sponsored by the first Bush administration. We don't agree with a lot of what Mr. Khalidi has had to say about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict over the years, and Mr. Obama has made clear that he doesn't, either. But to compare the professor to neo-Nazis -- or even to Mr. Ayers -- is a vile smear.

These asshats are finished.
Heh WAPO, how is that 87% drop in revenue this year treating ya? That is what happens when you are biased liberal press that reports only one side. Please keep it up and you all will be out of jobs.
Hey, compost, it don’t take Mac to explain the Barack Hussein Obama’s link(s) to extremism.
America already knows.
It’s a good sign that the MSM feels they can’t ignore the story without putting their spin on it. That’s progress.
It’s going to be a fast slide to the bottom for these traitors after this election.
We want to see the video and make up our own minds.
We can always count on the Washington Post (I think Warren Buffet owns a major position there these days) to DEFEND any antisemite who comes down the road.
Actually, it's the ticking clock and McCain not speaking about all the "neighbors" months ago that is the problem.
I can’t wait until the WaPo goes out of business.
With the presidential campaign clock ticking down, the Washington Post is getting worried that victory for the Annointed One is slipping away. They have reason to be worried, because the American people is tired of this political charade, and more than ever convinced that the liberal media elite is stabbing us all in the back by promoting this dangerous man. Obama President! We may as well have Hugo Chavez sleep in the Lincoln bedroom, Osama bin Laden in the Rose Garden, and Putin pacing in the Oval office dictating talking points to that One.
Khalidi is exactly what we need right now - to defeat NObama.
Good job, LA Times! It might be better if you don’t release the tape, since people can readily imagine the scene...
From Debbie Schlussel site (http://www.debbieschlussel.com/), we have the following:
The evenings entertainment consisted of young boyssome apparently as young as sevensimulating beheadings and shootings of other young boys who donned the American, Israeli, and British flags. Then they put red scarves over their heads to symbolize blood . . . and no head.
While I do not know if Sanabel AlQuds performed this particular dance for Barack and Michelle Obama and other guests at this dinner, I know that this was their performance in the summer of 2004, just a year after the dinner that is the subject of the videotape the Los Angeles Times will not release. It may be that this same act was performed for the Obamas, but that it was not part of the tape, which would be why L.A. Times plagiarist/reporter Peter Wallsten did not write about it.
Still, why is Barack Obama hanging out with young kids who simulate beheadings of Americans and Jews on a regular basis?
Perhaps the LA Times tape shows this act and it also shows Obama cheeering it wildly. Cant tell without the release of the tape.
TOWNHALL.com: "EGO AND MOUTH" by Thomas Sowell (COLUMN SNIPPET: "The kind of self-righteous self-confidence that has become Obama's trademark is usually found in sophomores in Ivy League colleges-- very bright and articulate students, utterly untempered by experience in real world. The signs of Barack Obama's self-centered immaturity are painfully obvious, though ignored by true believers who have poured their hopes into him, and by the media who just want the symbolism and the ideology that Obama represents.") The only “idiot wind” in this race is the mainline media, and that includes the Washington Post. Just look at where they are going soon, “gone with the wind”. And it could not happen to a more deserving group.
It’s amazing the long list of questionable characters we’re supposed to ignore.
An IDIOT COWARD by not putting their name on the piece of crap.
We need that tape.
Saaaayyyy....... good one, BTTT.
Yeah, I remember when Ayers's FBI poster, together with that of his bomb-throwing squeeze Bernadine Dohrn, was displayed in the Bahamian post office at Governor's Harbour on Eleuthera in 1971. Yeah, they were very widely respected as armed and dangerous.
